In RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Sustainable Systems Engineering) (Honours), you'll learn how to protect, restore and create engineered and natural systems that are socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable.

As part of this systems engineering degree you’ll undertake a broad range of studies, graduating with the skills to design engineering solutions that meet the needs of society within economic and ecological constraints.

Your studies will focus on developing a sustainable systems approach, combining the fundamentals of sustainable systems design, engineering design, engineering mathematics and engineering science. Degree specialisations exist in renewable energy systems, energy efficiency and demand management, transport and logistics, and supply chain analytics.

We have a multidisciplinary research base that offers opportunities to conduct biomedical research in a range of areas.
Under expert supervision, you will develop your skills and join researchers already active in:

• Aquatic and marine biology
• Ecotoxicology (biomarkers for environmental pollutants)
• Environmental and molecular approaches to diagnose and develop solutions for disease, agricultural and environmental problems
• Genomics and sequencing techniques applied to various organisms
• Microbiology (food, medical and environmental biotechnology, vaccine development, fundamentals of pathogen/host interactions)
• Plant biology (plant biotechnology and genomics, molecular plant breeding, ecotoxicogenomics, fire and environmental ecology)

This master degree may be undertaken in a project or thesis mode.

In the Associate Degree in Business, you will study a range of business subjects including marketing, human resources, accountancy and management disciplines.

Blending the academic and the practical, you will explore and understand how the range of subjects work together holistically to enable the effective management of a contemporary business.

In this associate degree, you will be exposed to simulated and real-life business challenges, often working with partner companies on specific group projects. Past partners have included Devondale, Zagame Automotive Group, the Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, Tupperware, and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).
Working individually and in groups, you will develop cooperative skills essential in the workplace. You will also be mentored by teachers with practical workplace experience in senior industry roles to complement your academic learning journey.
