As part of your studies in the Master of Engineering (Electronic Engineering), you will study subjects that go beyond the theory of recent engineering developments.

During your studies, you will build a strong understanding of intercultural, social and political issues and how to address them. You have the opportunity to select a specialisation stream, with three to choose from:

With the Master of Communication Design you will develop expertise in communication design practice, and focus on design entrepreneurship and strategic design thinking.

Develop expert knowledge and specialised technical and creative skills to prepare for professional roles in multidisciplinary environments, including communication design studios, digital design consultancies, advertising agencies, design teams within other organisations, and in independent practices. You will be able to work independently or in teams, and you will be able to communicate confidently with other design professionals and clients.

Under expert guidance from RMIT’s team of nationally and internationally renowned practitioners and educators, you’ll advance your knowledge and practice as a communication design practitioner and will be well prepared to contribute to global industry developments and design innovation.

Gain the skills you need to become a technician in laboratories in hospitals, research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, private pathology and testing laboratories.

In the Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques, you will be taught to apply your knowledge of living systems to solving important practical issues including controlling disease and making the environment safer.
Using the latest industry-standard equipment, you’ll build the knowledge and skills required to work under supervision to:

• Examine micro-organisms or changes in cells and tissues
• Perform analysis of pathology, environmental and chemical samples
• Assist with research into biochemical or genetic processes.

You will also benefit from the opportunity to gain hands-on experience. Upon completion of this certificate, you may go on to work in vaccine production, food and materials testing, pathology, or research. Alternatively, you might prefer to pursue the Diploma of Laboratory Technology, or other further study of your choice.

The Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) / Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) combines two highly respected degrees to give you a unique, broad grounding across both areas.

This degree will increase your knowledge and understanding of human development, and how such factors interact within individual, group, organisational, community and policy contexts. You will be prepared to think critically about the social world and to influence change through your practice, advocacy, or research. Social workers and psychologists often work side-by-side in organisations where a balancing act of expertise in both areas is required.

You will be prepared for employment in general social work practice and settings requiring an understanding of psychology. You will be equipped to apply interdisciplinary knowledge to address complex social problems.

This social work and psychology double degree combines the Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) and the Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology).

The Master of Design (Fashion and Textiles) by Research program enables you to develop an advanced body of knowledge that you may apply to a range of stimulating, real-life research contexts.

Individually supervised research programs are aligned to one of the School’s Centre for Materials Innovation and Future Fashion or the School’s research streams.

These research areas reflect the School’s research supervisors’ expertise along with the available resources and collaborative relationships with industry and other research organisations.

The Master of Design may be undertaken by project or by thesis mode:

• The project mode is directed towards candidates taking a creative practice-led approach to conduct research into fashion design, textile design, curatorial practice, communication, or interdisciplinary design.
• The thesis mode is directed towards candidates taking a social science approach to conduct research into an aspect of the fashion and textiles system such as design practice, curatorial practice, historical or contemporary cultural studies, enterprise or ethical practice.

This decision is made in consultation with your supervisor. You should discuss these program modes with your potential supervisor/s prior to your application.

The Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) (Honours) supports and develops your capacity as a practicing artist and active researcher in the field of contemporary art.

This degree is designed for students who have successfully completed a three-year degree in contemporary art or craft, or an equivalent field, and who wish to undertake a further year of study to focus exclusively on an individual project.

At this level of study, you will engage with high-level intensive subjects, deepening and enriching your practice through expertise, knowledge and criticality.

You will be guided through personalised mentorship and individual supervision, as you are introduced to practice-led research and research methodologies.

A flexible curriculum provides opportunities for you to develop an individual project and to further your knowledge and capability for professional or highly skilled art practice, and/or further learning at a postgraduate level.

Blockchain Enabled Business
Be equipped with the the knowledge and skills you will need to apply and manage blockchain in public and private enterprises, through multi-disciplinary study.

Designed to equip you with in-depth knowledge of this essential field, the Bachelor of Accounting will prepare you for a challenging and varied career.

Offering practical knowledge through core studies in both accounting and law, the skills you acquire through this degree will enable you to analyse and evaluate data and information throughout the accounting discipline. Beyond  enterprise, you will explore business and future technology, digital literacy, social impact and the role of business in society, economics, sustainability, and more.

This Qualification has been superseded by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment and will change in 2023.

You can still apply for this program and you will be supported to transfer into the new qualification once it becomes available. This may result in changes to the program structure, content and fees.

The Advanced Diploma of Accounting has been designed to equip you with the theoretical and technical skills required to pursue work in the varied accounting and financial services industries.
