With a strong focus on ideas-led venturous design exploration, RMIT’s Master of Architecture will assist you to develop a sophisticated understanding of architecture, while providing you with a diverse set of advanced skills and learning experiences.

You’ll continue to develop the core skills of architectural design learnt in the degree to an advanced level. This practical, industry-focused associate degree will nurture your creative potential while building the skills, expertise and versatility you need to become a professional writer and/or editor.

Whatever your goal - to write a novel, start an online magazine, or work as a freelance editor - we'll support and inspire you. 

During your studies you'll work alongside fellow students passionate about reading and writing. You'll also learn from teachers and mentors who are leading practitioners in their fields.

You’ll start by gaining a broad base of skills in fiction, creative nonfiction, professional communication, digital content, grammar and editing. Then you’ll specialise in your preferred areas, with a focus on building a writing portfolio, developing practical projects, and engaging with industry and with readers.

Other opportunities include completing an industry placement, producing the annual Visible Ink anthology, collaborating with creative partners, and building your professional networks by organising and participating in literary events.

In this program you will develop advanced skills in order to critically analyse information, synthesise knowledge, and communicate your research findings effectively for a variety of career settings.

Are you interested in industrial design? Would you like to create change? This discipline shapes the world we live in.

Industrial designers have the ability to affect change and create powerful solutions that improve both human and environmental health and wellbeing.

Exploring the trans-disciplinary nature of contemporary industrial design. You'll engage in practical learning through our practice-based design studios, co-creating solutions through a human centred approach to product, service and experience design contexts.

For over 70 year’s industrial design at RMIT has offered aspiring designers ground breaking experiences through technical, theoretical and applied immersions into the diverse and dynamic fields of industrial design practice. Working on real-world problems in industry and community contexts, this hands on educational experience culminates in a year-long honours design research project. 

You will develop a design practice through:

From managing festivals, events and museums to working as an advisor in the community, education and government sector, you'll emerge from this degree as a highly skilled, reflective and ethical practitioner committed to making a contribution to arts management and the community.

Learning from industry practitioners and professional educators, you'll recognise, develop and extend your professional knowledge, skills, attitudes and values within a flexible learning framework. Upon completion of this degree, you will be aware of the changing nature of this industry, and be able to work within various context of this environment.

In consultation with your discipline honours coordinator and your supervisor, you'll be allocated a project to develop your skills to an advanced level.

In the Diploma of Information Technology you will be guided by experienced teachers with extensive industry experience to develop a project portfolio designed to help launch a career in IT.

As part of your study in a world-class university environment, you will learn how to:

You will learn how to install, operate and troubleshoot medium enterprise routers and switches, design user experience (UX) solutions, build dynamic websites, design and integrate databases, design, build and test network servers, and more. You will also build professional skills including promoting cyber security awareness and best practice, managing client issues, and originating and developing concepts. 

The Associate Degree in Digital Technologies (Advanced Manufacturing) is designed to cover emerging digital manufacturing technologies.

Graduates of this degree are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to pursue a career within Industry 4.0 technologies, which connect the physical world with the digital world.

You will build the skills required to pursue a career in this rapidly-expanding and in-demand field, and may be suitable for roles as a systems technician, cyber security technologist, advanced manufacturing technician, industrial network design associate, and more.

Long associated with cutting edge technology and innovation, the aerospace and aviation industries attract people with advanced engineering knowledge and skills.

The Asian region is a key growth area for the aviation market, with double-digit growth rates in air traffic across China, Hong Kong and Singapore. Massive passenger growth means many more aircraft, larger and more airports, and larger and new airlines. This points to a need for more aerospace engineers, and more aviation-related employees.

During your study in the Master of Engineering (Aerospace), you'll learn how to analyse complex engineering assets in the aerospace and aviation environment; and you will develop engineering, scientific and technological solutions to ensure problem-free operations. Your skills will be further sharpened with systematic problem-solving and adherence to engineering/technological systems design methodologies operating in the industry.

In today’s visually sophisticated but increasingly competitive and fragmented market, it is imperative for successful photographers to demonstrate a distinctive visual voice.

This honours degree will provide you with the advanced knowledge and skills to effectively adapt to various ways of thinking and making photographic images. You will be guided through personalised mentorship and individual supervision, as you are introduced to practice-led research and research methodologies. Through intensive studio-based research and workshop practice, you will develop creative autonomy and a critical and ethical understanding of photography that will allow you to make significant cultural contributions.

The Bachelor of Arts (Photography) (Honours) is designed for students who have successfully completed a three-year degree in photography, and who wish to undertake a further year of study to focus exclusively on an individual project.

The degree will also appeal to commercial photographers, photographers with commissioned practices (such as advertising, editorial or fashion photographers), photojournalists, socially-engaged practitioners, artists, designers, and other creative industry professionals seeking a more advanced studio practice in photography.
