In this degree, you will gain a comprehensive education in the principles and practice of information technology. Through your chosen major, you will develop an in-depth understanding of the underlying technology, administration and application of specific applications of information technology and systems.

You will learn about information technology planning and management, and about Internet-based services used in commerce, education, health, science, public administration, and many other disciplines. You will also learn how to apply information technology to model, support, and manage modern, flexible organisations.

Social science applies the 'science' of research and analysis to the world’s complex 'social' problems such as sustainability, equity, and diversity, to create positive change.

You’ll study some of society’s most intriguing issues along with the techniques to analyse them and devise break-through solutions. You’ll be equipped to combine your hard knowledge of world issues with advanced data analysis techniques. You’ll develop the knowledge to select the appropriate tools and methodologies for the issues you’re working on, along with the communication skills to collate and present your findings to decision-makers, to enable evidence-based solutions that can positively transform society.

Climate change is an example of a contemporary challenge that can’t be solved by 'pure' science alone. Solutions will come from people who can not only interpret the data but also understand the need for social impact studies, policy development, and effective public communication. Social scientists work in these intersecting spaces, which is why they are in high-demand across government departments, creative industries, political parties, the business sector, in think tanks and non-government organisations (NGOs).

You don’t need prior knowledge of statistical research methods as you’ll study core courses that will develop your skills in analysing social policy and data, along with your two majors. Each of the majors represents a different perspective on the challenges of the future and allow you to develop areas of expertise that can open doors to a broad range of careers. There are also opportunities to undertake an internship in an area of your interest, and join a global study tour.

Materials science covers chemistry, physics and engineering. From a chemical perspective it involves the design and molecular assembly of new smart materials that are useful chemically, physically or both. Every day scientists are inventing new molecules and materials for a growing range of applications that will make positive differences in people's lives. Clean energy systems, better sensors for disease, smart drug delivery systems, more efficient farming technologies, green and sustainable polymers and plastics all arise from a knowledge of contemporary materials research. There is strong demand from existing industries and emerging start-up companies for graduates with materials science skills. All sectors of society are being influenced by the technologies, both present and future, that this area of science has to offer.

With this degree you will learn how to apply your new knowledge of the chemical sciences to solve problems and discover new materials that will drive the technologies of tomorrow, and be able to design, review and conduct experiments in modern materials chemistry. You will also develop the ability to analyse and interpret data from a range of modern analytical tools, as well as how to apply that knowledge in the characterisation of new materials. Nursing is the science of professional caring and offers opportunities to promote and restore health, prevent illness and alleviate suffering. In this degree, you will develop key skills for excellent nursing care.

You will develop your skills through clinical placements across the health sector and you will have opportunities to undertake rural, remote and overseas placements.

This degree will provide you with a deep understanding of policy, politics and power in the modern world, and the forces that shape these dynamics at the global and domestic levels. This Masters program covers essential areas of human resource management including strategy and HR, evidence-based HRM, organisational change, international and comparative HRM, recruitment and selection, and performance and reward management. In your first year, you will be introduced to the basic sciences underpinning medical science - anatomy, chemistry, biochemistry, genes and disease, law and ethics, microbiology, physiology, and epidemiology. You will also undertake a course in "interpersonal skills" which provides you with knowledge and skills in communication and interaction with patients.

In second year, you will study these areas in greater depth and take medically focused courses in immunology, infectious disease, pharmacology, metabolism, structural biochemistry, and molecular genetics, as well as undertaking a capstone course (Integrated Medical Sciences) which integrates and applies the knowledge of basic sciences learned in your first and second years to solving clinical problems.

Data science provides a broad knowledge of the exploration, gathering, manipulation, visualisation, automation and interpretation of data using digital platforms and can be applied to enable real-time performance optimisation.

This double degree will enable you to provide data-based insights based on your specific expertise in engineering, to improve decision-making, reduce costs and increase efficiencies.

The Master of Design (MDes) is an exploration of 21st century creative practices suited to current or emerging designers who wish to complement their existing skills with concepts, strategies, and technologies to solve complex problems in business, government and communities.

It offers students the opportunity to advance their skills and knowledge on design context and processes in multiple areas including experience design, design thinking, emerging design futures and business and professional practice. These courses are complimented by a range of practical/making courses in the areas of visual communication, prototyping, still/moving image and interactive design. The program gives a broad range of disciplines (design and non-design) the opportunity to upskill and build upon contemporary practices relevant to all designers and equip them with the knowledge base to pursue a major design research project of their choice.

Students will utilise both collaborative and individual working contexts to expand their knowledge of contemporary design processes at professional industry level. They will gain research and critical thinking skills which will be deployed in a major design project in the second year of the program. Graduates will be prepared for practice-led work and/or design strategy and leadership in macro, micro and freelance scenarios.

In this degree, you will learn the multifaceted practice of professional Industrial Design, from the blue-sky activities of idea-generation and invention to the rigorous knowledge of engineering science. You'll learn through making as you get hands-on with advanced technologies, including 3D printing and other methods of cutting-edge manufacturing through to traditional craft/hand-making technologies and techniques. You will be prepared for careers ranging from design for mass-production to small scale manufacture and everything in between.
