Materials science covers chemistry, physics and engineering. From a chemical perspective it involves the design and molecular assembly of new smart materials that are useful chemically, physically or both. Every day scientists are inventing new molecules and materials for a growing range of applications that will make positive differences in people's lives. Clean energy systems, better sensors for disease, smart drug delivery systems, more efficient farming technologies, green and sustainable polymers and plastics all arise from a knowledge of contemporary materials research. With this degree you will learn how to apply your new knowledge of the chemical sciences to solve problems and discover new materials that will drive the technologies of tomorrow, and be able to design, review and conduct experiments in modern materials chemistry. You will also develop the ability to analyse and interpret data from a range of modern analytical tools, as well as how to apply that knowledge in the characterisation of new materials. You will contribute to the provision of scientific solutions to national and international problems and develop new technologies for the sustainable advancement of society, as well as the skills to effectively communicate your findings and developments, and to work collaboratively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

This double degree enables students to combine business management skills with a studio major, developing core competencies such as critical and analytical thinking, business communication and decision-making.

The Design program prepares graduates for diverse professional practice as designers through practical and theoretical learning. The first year focuses on the development of manual and technological skills, design thinking, problem-defining and solving. Students will gain an understanding of the changing role of design and how they can become leaders in the industry. In the following years, students work on industry-related and research projects and specialise in selected studio areas.

Graduates are skilled in creative design and software application and are able to effectively and efficiently manage creative ventures from a business perspective.

This postgraduate pre-service teacher education program is offered in intensive mode to enable completion in one and a half years or over two years full-time. The program provides professional preparation for teaching in primary school (Prep to Year 6) settings. It is designed for graduates from a non-education background wishing to teach in this context.

The program covers the theory and practice of teaching concentrating on the characteristics of learners; the social and educational contexts of education; curriculum studies and professional experience in relevant settings.

You'll learn in state-of-the-art facilities from passionate, experienced teachers. You'll be engineering from day one, with a solid foundation in mathematics, computer systems, engineering principles and information systems. In your second year, you'll explore computer algorithms, object-oriented programming, business analysis, computer network essentials and more.

Your learning experience will involve practising engineers directly through your laboratory and tutorial sessions. This degree is ideal for students who like to work behind the scenes creating and manufacturing dentures, crowns, bridges and orthodontic appliances but not fitting the final denture or appliance to the patient.  It suits students who like working with their hands, can pay attention to detail and prefer not to work directly with the patient.

Dental Technologists (or Dental Technicians as they are often referred to) are highly skilled members of the dental team. They combine art and science skills to construct custom-made dental devices to replace, restore and correct defects that may affect our facial appearance and the ability to use our teeth properly.

As an undergraduate student, you will learn and work alongside Dentistry students in our state of the art dental clinics and laboratories located in the same building. Our students enjoy working with industry-standard equipment including CAD-CAM (Computer Aided Design/Manufacturing) facilities.

You will also expand your hands-on experience working with registered and experienced Dental Technicians in our commercial laboratory and through professional practice placements.

In this degree, you will develop the skills needed to work as an occupational therapist to deliver life changing outcomes. You will learn how to enable people to do the activities - occupations - they need or want to do in order to live a meaningful life, but have difficulty with due to illness, injury or other disadvantages.

You will study occupational therapy theory and practice, occupational science, and other sciences such as psychology, sociology and anatomy. With practical placements, starting in first year, you will apply the skills and knowledge to real life situations preparing you for the wide range of opportunities available to occupational therapists.
