This double degree is for engineers in the fields of physical metallurgy, materials engineering, ceramic engineering or process metallurgy who want to become skilled in technical management and more aware of the economic and social aspects of the engineering profession. The Materials Science component teaches you theoretical and practical skills that will put you at the forefront of innovation in developing materials that are lighter, greener and stronger. The Commerce component provides you with a fundamental understanding of general business principles and allows you to develop specialist knowledge in a business area of your choice. Human Rights Law & Policy
The development of human rights law continuously alters how nation-states, governments, individuals and groups interact at the international, regional and domestic levels. Challenges to the standards underlying these laws by states and individuals require informed and robust responses by human rights professionals to ensure their promotion and protection.  
This Master of Laws specialisation will enable you to acquire expertise in human rights law and the policy context that it operates in. It combines the expertise of human rights academics and practitioners across a range of human rights issues that are of contemporary domestic and international significance. It will expose you to the benefits and limitations of human rights theory and practice.

The Master of Health Leadership and Management (Extension)/Master of Infectious Diseases Intelligence degree enables you to specialise in both infectious disease intelligence and health management and develop research skills and apply them while undertaking a scholarly project.

You will be provided with advanced disciplinary knowledge and skills to undertake infectious diseases prevention and control, and health services management roles in government, community and health service settings in Australia and internationally. The degree will equip you with the specialised skills and leadership needed for professional practice in control of infectious diseases and for research and evidence based professional practice.

The program fosters judgment-ready practitioners who can contribute to improving population health and work across a range of contexts including ministries and departments of health, government and non-government and voluntary organisations, primary care and community healthcare services in both public and private sectors.

The UNSW Master of Applied Linguistics is a two-year full-time postgraduate degree that will prepare you to develop linguistic knowledge for cross-cultural communication in diverse professional, educational and interdisciplinary settings.

You'll graduate equipped to work in a range of fields, from helping migrant communities, to opening global opportunities for others through language acquisition and skilled communication. 

Data science is playing an increasingly important and controversial role in legal practice and the legal system more broadly. However, the number of lawyers with expertise in data analysis or machine learning is small.

This has implications for the delivery of justice as inappropriate methods are often employed by those who do lack sufficient knowledge of the legal domain. However, it also creates opportunities for those with dual expertise to find better ways to use data science to enhance access to justice, increase rates of settlement, and improve the efficiency of legal practice and the broader legal system.

Data Science and Decisions/Law is jointly offered by UNSW Law and Justice and UNSW Science.

Computer Science is the study of the design, construction and use of computer systems. The Bachelor of Science (Honours) program in Computer Science and Engineering is a 1 year full-time or 2 year part-time award undertaken by eligible students after completion of a 3 year Bachelor of Science program in a relevant discipline and offers students an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the discipline through the completion of advanced coursework and a research thesis.

Computational design
This specialisation takes a different approach – resolving design challenges with cutting-edge technologies. Using various computer languages, you’ll encode decisions and test ideas spanning architecture, design, computer science and engineering.

Learning in studio-based classes, you’ll develop unique and in-demand skills, including 3D modelling, digital geometry, parametric design, responsive environments, and form-making. Become familiar with robotic and digital fabrication using 3D printers and laser cutters or Augmented Reality (AR) / Virtual Reality (VR) headsets to design for the metaverse.
