The Bachelor of Media at UNSW unlocks the specialist expertise, self-knowledge, creative thinking, and creative problem-solving skills to make an impact as a media professional, or simply set you up as a more aware professional to succeed in your second and third job, not just your first.

You’ll have the opportunity to tailor a degree to your specific interests. Specialise in cinema studies, communications and journalism, media studies, public relations & advertising, or screen production. Here, you’ll develop practical job skills as well as conceptual, strategic, creative, and critical capabilities to help you make your impact in the exciting and fast-changing media industries.

Media studies
Gain the critical skills and knowledge you need to understand, analyse, and respond to the pivotal role of media in contemporary life. After building a firm foundation in media studies debates, methods, and history, you’ll be able to choose from a suite of electives that allow you to sharpen your focus on questions relating to justice, race, ethics, or emerging technologies. 

You’ll develop critical thinking and writing skills that allow you to make persuasive arguments, engage with challenging issues, and solve new problems. With an array of research methods and analytical techniques in your back pocket, you’ll bring your combination of critical and creative skills to life as a media change-maker.

Following graduation, you’ll be ready to work across the media industries of today, with the ability to adapt to whatever the future may hold. 

The UNSW Master of Public Policy and Governance is a two-year full-time postgraduate degree, that applies a social science perspective to real-world questions of policy, research and management in modern organisations. Through this master’s degree, you’ll prepare for roles that require research and analytical skills, and a practical appreciation of the processes of policymaking, policy analysis, and policy implementation.

This degree helps you to develop the skills and perspectives needed for the assessment, evaluation, and sensitivity of public policy. You’ll explore the impacts research, public policy and governance have on clients, customers and the public.

Students can undertake a five-year full-time double degree leading to the award of the degrees of Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science (BE (Hons) BSc).

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) provides you with a solid background in mathematics, natural sciences and computing to give you knowledge and skills in whichever specialisation you choose. You'll have the chance to apply yourself to engineering design and enquiry projects, professional engineering practice, and engineering and technical management, as well as conduct research towards your thesis project.

The Bachelor of Science degree allows you to study a wide range of science subjects. You are encouraged to choose a variety of courses in your first year, and later to choose from a broad selection of major options. This five-year degree allows you to build a foundational understanding of business essentials. Specialise in one of 12 Commerce majors such as Finance, Business Analytics or Economics, gain industry experience, and build a professional portfolio.  Alongside this, you'll undertake advanced coursework with an honours level research project in your chosen Mathematics specialisation.

Gain an understanding of diverse First Nation cultures and societies. This program begins with exploring current and traditional Indigenous knowledge, philosophies, and cultural values tied to country. The LLM MBA (Law) is a postgraduate double degree program that allows you to combine the breadth of knowledge from an MBA with the advanced study of Law.
