Economics is an influential social science which explores how society can best use finite resources - like time, money and effort. Economics subjects will equip you with analytical and statistical skills you can apply to any government or business role. Core studies in economic theory and econometric methods combined with a specialisation in econometrics, economics or financial economics will give you a solid grounding in modern economics analysis.
You can choose from more than 35 Arts majors, where you will develop transferable skills and in-depth knowledge, and gain the tools to think critically, communicate effectively and conduct independent research.

This six-year double degree provides an opportunity for musically gifted and talented students to explore the connections between music and law. The Law courses satisfy the requirements for the award of the professional Law degree, while the Music courses offer intensive pre-professional training in musicology, music theory, performance and composition as well as one of four music streams: music creative practice, music inquiry, sonic arts and music pedagogy.

Financial technology (FinTech) (Major)
In the past few years, financial technology has been a hot topic at industry conferences both in Australia and worldwide. This major will get you in on the ground floor of this rapidly evolving area. When you study FinTech, you’ll learn about these innovative technologies, as you also also learn the foundations of problem-solving for business success – setting you up with a set of skills that you can adapt in diverse roles and industries.

The Master of Actuarial Studies equips you with the data analytics and quantitative risk management training for an actuarial career, and careers in finance.

Through this degree, you’ll learn to apply advanced analytical techniques, deliver highly valued data analytics, and actionable insights. You’ll also develop a specialist quantitative skill set in actuarial models, financial mathematics, probability, machine learning / artificial intelligence analytics, and commerce. The program is accredited by the Actuaries Institute and includes courses and electives to develop your future career as a business professional.

The program has also earned the University-Earned Credit (UEC) program status for Financial Mathematics (FM) exam and Statistics for Risk Modelling (SRM) exam. This UEC program facilitates the pathway for students who pursue the Society of Actuaries (SOA) profession by providing opportunities to earn credit for SOA exams.

If you have already completed an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Studies, the Master of Actuarial Studies will allow you to complete courses equivalent to the Foundation Program of the Actuaries Institute. Criminal Justice and Criminology
Crime and criminal justice are matters of pressing public concern and considerable controversy. The Criminal Justice and Criminology specialisation in the Master of Laws will provide you with advanced interdisciplinary knowledge and skills to research and analyse current debates, emerging problems, and new criminal law and criminal justice developments. The specialisation draws on the recognised expertise of UNSW in research and teaching of criminal justice and criminology, criminal law and procedure. International Law
