The topics covered in thirty-week Veterinary Office Assistant Certificate program include common health issues of companion animals, veterinary terminology, clinical assisting skills in animal handling, veterinary computer software, financial management, client care, surgical instrument preparation and financial management. The course is also available online, making it easier for the students to pursue it from home.

The program teaches the students the skills required to make and design applications, websites, interactive multimedia products and e-publications and present, defend and critique digital media projects to meet the needs of the client and the project scope. The graduates of the program are capable of designing and producing flexible digital and print media like interactive/multimedia products, e-publications, websites and applications for public, non-profit, and corporate clients.

Combining theory and practice, the Early Childhood Education and Development at Bow Valley College prepares the students to work as frontline caregivers or supervisors to young children and families and making a difference in their lives.

The two years full-time ECED program readies the students to provide quality child care, plan emergent play experiences for the children; offers information on program planning, child development, family dynamics and play that equips them to support the healthy development of children via child-centered learning experiences and prepares them to be eligible for the Child Development Supervisor certification from Alberta Human Services.

The curriculum includes classroom spaces with interactive children’s learning centers that consist of a sensory-motor center, a reading center, an artist studio and a dramatic play center that supports the transition of theory to practice and gives the students an opportunity to engage with children in the lab space. The practicum focuses on a child- centered, play-based and emergent curriculum, involving the student in observing, documenting, and planning the curriculum to meet children’s individual needs, interests, and development.

Students gain a broad understanding of an event's behind-the-scenes aspects, and plan and produce outstanding events. With a focus on exceeding client and attendee expectations, this program covers research, planning, coordinating, and managing successful events. Graduates typically find employment as event coordinators with special event/entertainment companies, in hotels or convention centres, as wedding planners, and with a variety of not-for-profit and corporate businesses.

Co-operative Education Program (Optional)
Co-op provides eligible Business Administration Diploma students with an opportunity to gain work-related experience for one term through an assisted job search. Co-op offers students relevant experience to boost employment opportunities, develop professional skills and experience, network with employers, and earn money.  

The Co-op Work Term process aligns with the competitive nature of job search. To be accepted into the Co-op Program, applicants must meet all eligibility criteria and follow the application process. Candidates are responsible for demonstrating a high level of professional and program expectations. Not all students accepted into the Co-op Program are guaranteed a Co-op Work Term position. 

The program teaches the students the principles of search engine optimization, user experience design, web development techniques, integrated media strategies and analytics, along with important communication and marketing skills so that the students can expand further in the digital realm. 

The students are required to carry a laptop computer with the following specifications:

• Intel quad core CPU (i5 or i7)
• 8GB RAM (16GB recommended)
• 13 inch 1080p screen (15 inches recommended)
• A dedicated graphics card with 2GB of VRam
• A 128GB solid state hard drive (256GB recommended)
• A portable hard drive (for data backup)
• Windows 10

The graduates of this program work in classrooms and support children with different learning needs. The program trains the students to b education assistants via practical training and classroom learning in a school.

This diploma will provide you with a solid foundation in Canadian justice to help you make a difference in Aboriginal society. Upon completion of this diploma, you will be ready to apply your learning in a variety of justice contexts.

This is a two-year (four-term) diploma program with an optional non-credit fifth term (fieldwork placement).

The students of the program are taught to support the individuals, the families and the communities dealing with addiction. The program lasts for eight months and helps the students develop the skills to support the negative behavior related to addiction. The curriculum involves classroom discussions and projects, and the focus is placed on learning to identify and manage addictions. 

The students who are registered in the full-time Addiction Studies Certificate program have to write the Test of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES) assessment in their first semester.

The program provides a broad understanding of business and focuses on the development of job-ready accounting skills that a student might require for a successful career in the field of accounts. The students graduate with a broad understanding of business focusing on the development of soft-skills, job ready, technical accounting skills and other skills required for a successful career in the field of accounting.

The course also involves co-operative work opportunities so that the students can gain real-world work related experience for a term via an assisted job search. The work term provides the student with the relevant skills and experience to boost employment opportunities, network with prospective employers, develop professional skills and experience and earn money.

Co-operative Education Program (Optional)

The program equips the graduates with the practical skills necessary to enter into the IT sector, gain the skills required to troubleshoot technical problems, deliver quality technical support, communicate with clients, executives, summarize solutions in technical reports and prepares them for the completion of industry-recognized certificates.
