This is a one-year (two terms/30 weeks total) certificate program. A full course load per term includes five courses. Students may elect to take fewer courses each term; however it will take longer to complete the program.

Education assistants work in a classroom and support children with diverse learning needs. In this program, you'll train to be an education assistant through classroom learning and practicum experience in a school.

You can also take the Education Assistant Certificate part-time, online. If you take the program online, you can only take online courses. Learners in the face-to-face full-time program write the Test of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES) in semester one.

Do you plan on extending your education? Transfer your courses and complete the Disability Studies Diploma in over a year.

The diploma teaches the students how to support and manage the cases of addiction in Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities. The course covers Aboriginal history, Aboriginal culture, and the needs of their communities and other populations and includes nineteen courses and two community practicums.

You will attain knowledge and skills required to pursue a career in the various fields of law enforcement where every day offers unique and exciting challenges.

These skills provide a sound foundation for your career in public and private sector law enforcement. Your instructors will include currently serving and recently retired police officers. They are exemplary instructors committed to learner success.

The students of the program are taught to support the individuals, the families and the communities dealing with addiction. The program lasts for eight months and helps the students develop the skills to support the negative behavior related to addiction. The curriculum involves classroom discussions and projects, and the focus is placed on learning to identify and manage addictions. 

The students who are registered in the full-time Addiction Studies Certificate program have to write the Test of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES) assessment in their first semester.

The graduates of this program work in classrooms and support children with different learning needs. The program trains the students to b education assistants via practical training and classroom learning in a school.

The Legal Assistant diploma is a two-year program and is suited for the students who wish to work with lawyers on a variety of legal matters. The course prepares the students to have strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills, an understanding of confidentiality, superior computer skills, prioritization and effective time management. The Legal Assistant Capstone course brings theory and practice together in a law office simulation.

The course delivery is flexible and offers the students an option to study online. The students are provided support and feedback via email from an online instructor. 
 

Disability Studies Diploma is a sixteen-month course that prepares the students to support people with disabilities and create diverse and inclusive communities. The students on the completion of their graduation can work in multiple services that assist people with disabilities like not-for-profit agencies, educational institutions or families.

In this major, you'll learn the various aspects of business operations including procurement, logistics and transportation, supplier relations, and inventory management. With this knowledge, you can contribute to the operational efficiency of a company. 

Time commitment

• This is a two-year (four terms) diploma program. A full course load is five courses per term. Students may elect to take fewer courses each term, however, it will take longer to complete the program.

Learning options

• The program consists of core business courses and major-specific courses. Core courses are available both in-class and online. All major courses are available in-class with only some courses available online.

Co-operative Education Program (Optional)

• Co-op provides eligible Business Administration Diploma students with an opportunity to gain work-related experience for one term through an assisted job search. Co-op offers students relevant experience to boost employment opportunities, develop professional skills and experience, network with employers, and earn money.  
• The Co-op Work Term process aligns with the competitive nature of job search. To be accepted into the Co-op Program, applicants must meet all eligibility criteria and follow the application process. Candidates are responsible for demonstrating a high level of professional and program expectations. Not all students accepted into the Co-op Program are guaranteed a Co-op Work Term position. 

University Transfer (Supply Chain Specific)

• Transferability is available towards SAIT's Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Supply Chain Management major (upon acceptance by SAIT).

Through a variety of delivery options, you can earn a Bow Valley College/Government of Alberta Health Care Aide Certificate. 

The Health Care Aide Certificate is available in three delivery options:

• Full-time, on-campus study over a eight-month period.
• Part-Time,online and on-campus over a five term period. 
• Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR): you may be eligible to challenge the courses in the Health Care Aide (HCA) program if you have work experience as a health care aide or caregiver and wish to meet provincial health care aide certification requirements. 

This program focuses on developing the core skills needed to care for individuals with various health care needs. Topics include personal care, assisting with mobility and nutrition, communication, assisting with medication delivery, and clinical skills.
