Our programs combine academic study with unique practical experience in critical thinking and writing. Courses explore literature from Britain, the United States and Canada, as well as works written in English from all over the world.

The Writing, Rhetoric and Discourse Studies program combines practical and theoretical studies with instruction in a range of writing genres for students interested in communications, public relations, journalism and professional writing for organizations.

The Department of Communication, Popular Culture and Film offers four separate programs of study in Business Communication, Media and Communication Studies, Film Studies, and Popular Culture. A four-year program leading to the Bachelor of Arts (BA) Honours degree, a 4 Year BA with Major, and a three-year program leading to the BA Pass degree is offered in all four programs. In addition, the Department is involved in programs with community colleges which offer students the opportunity to earn an honours degree in Communication Studies and a college diploma or certificate.

Accounting at the Goodman School of Business has a national reputation for excellence. In fact, Goodman was recently re-accredited to the master’s level by Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Ontario under the new national CPA accreditation standards.

If you want a career as a professional accountant, know that our program is designed with the rigorous academic courses and professional orientation the CPA designation demands.

Accounting co-op at Goodman prepares you to complete the work experience necessary to obtain the CPA designation, including a public accounting licence. Obtaining the CPA designation requires 30 months of professional work experience. Our students work in a wide variety of locations throughout Ontario and acquire 16-20 months of work experience prior to graduation

Our program is designed to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving industry, incorporating principles of sustainability (economic, environmental, social and political) in tourism management and planning. Within the Department of Geography and Tourism Studies, our program examines such questions as: Can we balance the economic benefits of tourism with the negative consequences of pollution, loss of biodiversity, economic inequality and unsuitable cultural change?

Allied with the Goodman School of Business, the Tourism Management stream offers a range of business-related courses.

Our Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Co-op International Double Degree will differentiate you from your peers. We’ve partnered with five leading business schools in Europe to offer you the best in international business education and co-op work experience in both Canada and Europe.

This outstanding opportunity, allows you to combine your studies in Business at Goodman with an experience at the Lancaster University Management School in England, EBS Business School in Germany, ESB Reutlingen University in Germany, NEOMA Business School in France, or Dublin City University in Ireland. No matter which school you choose, your experience will include co-op work-terms in both Canada and the respective country.

You’ll study both at Brock and the partner school and receive two internationally recognized degrees. This co-op only program gives you the global perspective desirable in today’s economy and the work experience to back it up.

England: Lancaster University Management School (LUMS): Study for two years at the Goodman School of Business and two years at Lancaster University Management School in England.
France: NEOMA Business School (NBS): Study for 2.5 years at the Goodman School of Business and two years at NEOMA Business School in France. You will study in French at NEOMA — a minimum Grade 12 French is required for entry to this program, and French language courses must be completed at Brock in Year 2 of your program.
Germany: EBS Business School: Study for 2.5 years at the Goodman School of Business and 1.5 years at EBS Business School in Germany. You will study in English at EBS; however, you will take German language courses at both schools so that you are prepared to work in a German work environment.
Germany: ESB Reutlingen University: Study for 2.5 years at the Goodman School of Business and two years at ESB Reutlingen in Germany. At ESB, you will study 50 per cent in German in Year 3 and 100 per cent in German in Year 4. You will study German language in years 1 and 2 to prepare.
Ireland: Dublin City University: Study for 2.5 years at the Goodman School of Business and two years at Dublin City University in Ireland.

This program aims to equip students with a sound theoretical basis for analyzing and practicing communication within the business environment. You may study how digital technologies impact human communication in our concentration in Digital Culture. Pursue one of our collaborative programs to complete both a degree and a diploma.

The Tecumseh Center for Aboriginal Research and Education offers a few alternatives for those keen on working in an indigenous teaching condition. 

The people group put together educational program model depends with respect to qualified Aboriginal teachers to encourage the instructive adventure. Courses are offered in an encouraged learning associate model in areas over the territory. A determination of Indigenous Studies courses are offered in the campus such as: 

• BED in Aboriginal Adult Education 
• Certificate in Aboriginal Adult Education or language 
• BED primary/ junior 
• Minor in Indigenous studies 
• Indigenous Certificate program- Gidayaamin

We’ll provide you with a comprehensive education encompassing sensory science, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, plant physiology and cell biology.

Your education will be enhanced by an opportunity to apply what you learn in the lecture hall with hands-on winemaking labs and viticulture field-work. Extracurricular lectures and events organized by Brock’s internationally renowned Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute (brocku.ca/ccovi) connect you with leading researchers in the field. Industry experience via our co-op program (brocku.ca/co-op) will also be an essential part of your education. At least one work term will be in a vineyard setting with another at a winery during harvest time. CCOVI is the only institute of its kind in Canada.

This program offers the students a broad understanding of physical education, applies knowledge from humanities, social sciences and biosciences and allows maximum opportunities for students to pursue various courses and study a wide range of issues related to human movement.

Brock University is one of the few Canadian universities that meets the national accreditation standards set by the by the Canadian Council of University Physical Education and Kinesiology Administrators and teaches the students human movement via practical investigations and theoretical classes and adequate personal movement experience, preparing students for further education, research and professional service in the same industry.

Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL): Learn how second language learning is different from first language learning, and prepare to teach ESL in different contexts. Learn about advanced theory and practice of second language learning and teaching, and complete a major research paper in our MA Applied Linguistics/TESL program.
