Biology is the field of science that deals with life and the living organisms. Biology has a number of subfields such as Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Ecology, Genetics and Molecular Biology. Concordia University of Edmonton offers a three year bachelor degree program in the field of biology and the course allows students to specialize in the areas of ecology and evolutionary biology, cell and molecular biology and health/medical sciences.

In studying Environmental Science, you will partake in discourse around the nature and characteristics of the major environmental issues prevalent in such environments. The focus of learning in this topic is to concentrate on what causes these problems, and develop the resourcefulness to propose solutions.

Several of Environmental Science courses are offered in alternating years. The Environmental Science Course Rotation shows which courses are offered each year and which are offered every other year.

Mathematics is involved in a widely diverse number of career paths such a business, computer science, the medical field, and engineering, to name a few.

The Concordia University of Edmonton offers students a two-year long post graduate master’s program called Master of Information Systems Security Management. Through the years with growing corporates, the need for security professionals is growing and hence, it becomes one of the most highly employable fields in IT.  Students are helped to develop skills to carry out digital forensic activities, recognize and assess cyber threats, conduct security tests against other networks so on and so forth. A number of career options open up for students such as digital forensic investigators, cybersecurity professionals, IT Security Consultants, and security testers.

The program allows you preparation time for writing the certification exam for Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). After completing this program, students are also eligible for certification exams such as Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) as well as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Students are aided by a group of highly trained professionals and faculty members who help them throughout the program. 

English is the most global language in the world and is spoken widely across the globe. Concordia University has an extraordinary three yearlong Bachelor’s program in English that helps students learn about literature as well as language and sharpen their skills pertaining to the language. Under this course students study literature and through the affluence of English literature we can have a better worldview. BA in English integrates a comprehensive historical approach to literature with an emphasis on literary theory and recent approach and Concordia also offers courses in creative and technical writing.

Literature offers us a culturally diverse perspective of the world and offer us a more historical, political and social context of events. Studying literature helps an individual develop and hone their preexisting skills such as reading, writing, critical thinking and higher level of understanding. From classic literature to contemporary literature, from poetry to prose and from fiction to nonfiction, this course covers all genres and type of literature as well as all the aspects of learning language as well. Under this program, students can also choose to undertake courses according to their choice. Students can also join interesting activity clubs such as drama, theatre etc. 

Concordia University of Edmonton’s Bachelor of Environmental Health (After Degree) is a fifteen-month program that provides a sound theoretical base and skills necessary to enable graduate professionals to manage current and emerging environmental and public health issues effectively. Students gain experience of examining issues such as food and drinking water safety, waste management, environmental pollution, communicable disease control, occupational safety and health risk and emergency response management, through lectures, laboratories and field visits.

The program also prepares students to challenge the certification examinations of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors. Applications are encouraged from those individuals who possess an undergraduate baccalaureate degree in a science discipline. Normally a four-year degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science or health sciences is preferred.

The practice of environmental public health is critical to the wellness of communities. Concordia University of Edmonton’s Graduate Diploma in Environmental Public Health Practice explores all aspects of the natural and built environment that can influence human health and disease. You will explore the diversity of the field including food and drinking water safety, waste management, air and soil quality, communicable disease control, emergency response and occupational health.

The Bachelor of Management degree was designed in response to the growing need for university graduates with leadership training. The program focuses on establishing a solid foundation of technical competence as well as developing leadership skills that are essential in a range of businesses and industries. The curriculum incorporates the gold standard technical courses such as accounting, finance and information technology with courses that facilitate the development of effective management skills. The degree is enhanced by innovative curricular mapping in management ethics and international business. Distinguishing features include use of industry experts in the classroom, use of an independent employer advisory committee to ensure quality, and a relevant 13-week internship (work experience) placement.
