Philosophy gives you a broad vision of the world and the ability to make intelligent decisions, laying the foundation for a variety of careers. You can study philosophy exclusively, or combine it with another discipline. Classes are small and full of opportunities to discuss today’s most pressing topics such as artificial intelligence, feminism, the environment and politics.

Explore how gender, race and sexualities shape your daily life and the relationships you foster. You’ll learn from world-renowned leaders in the areas of equity, diversity and inclusion, and sexual assault resistance education. We have innovative learning initiatives through the Walls to Bridges program, where you’ll learn alongside incarcerated students, to the Bystander Initiative which teaches you how to safely intervene to end sexual violence.

You will learn the underlying issues that impact global finances and be able to make sound business decisions based on resources available at any given time. You will be prepared to jump into the world of government and public policy analysis, commercial banking, financial advising or economic research.

Biological Science
Study the fundamentals of life in this flexible program that lets you blaze your own trail. Specialize in microbiology, cellular development, environmental and evolutionary biology, population and ecosystem ecology, or any combination of these areas. You’ll learn research techniques in our new labs and out in the field that will prepare you for a wide range of career paths, ranging from interests at the molecular level, to whole organism (including humans) and/or the more complex community and ecosystem levels.

Psychology
Get inside people’s brains in this program that lets you discover why people think and act the way they do. Major in psychology alone or do a combined honours with another discipline. Start your program with an introduction to Psychology course for psych majors only, where you get to work in small groups led by mentors to help you along. You can do research and community placements throughout your undergraduate years. Our Honours Psychology program includes advanced courses in various areas of psychology and prepares students to apply for non-psychology professional degrees.

Benefit from training in both psychology and disability studies in this program that gives you lots of hands-on learning opportunities. Food and water security for all North Americans depends on the Great Lakes, and environmental scientists play a critical role in their management and sustainability. Here, at the heart of the Great Lakes, we provide our students with comprehensive and balanced training in the physical and living environment – atmosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere, biosphere. Through a systems-based approach, you will learn and apply a diversity of scientific tools and skills to understand the structure, function and health of this globally important freshwater resource. Our students have the skills employers are looking for!

Choose a concentration in performance, history and theory, design/technical theatre, or a combination of two or all three. Sport Management & Leadership: If your passion is sport, recreation and active living, make an impact in the industry with a degree in Sport Management and Leadership! We'll arm you with lots of hands-on learning opportunities in the form of co-op, internships, case studies, simulations, research, and community outreach. You'll be prepared to deliver sports programs, execute events, operate facilities, market sport to participant and spectator audiences, and more. Our internationally-renowned faculty are certain to provide the experience and networking opportunities for you to become a leader in the sport industry.

The Criminology and Family and Social Relations combined program allows students to train in both criminology and family and social relations. Through criminology, students will examine criminal activity, legal issues, policing, regulation, the criminal justice system, and security as major factors in society. Through the family and social relations program, students will gain insights into the changes that affect families and social responses to those changes. You will also explore child studies, sexuality and sexual health, family history and change, marriage dynamics, women’s issues, changing gender roles, and aging.

Meet at the intersection of Politics and Business. You will learn how policies and laws affect people, businesses and the world in this combined program. Develop your critical thinking and analytical skills to impact change both at the community level and in the corporate boardroom. Understanding economics, policies and regulations is important in today’s business world. You can take part in research on current issues and gain an understanding of economics, policies and regulations in today’s business world.
