The Master of Design (MDes) is a postgraduate-level degree in the field of design, awarded by higher education institutions around the world. The field of design is of course constantly changing, and careers in design typically call for a combination of personal creativity with professional skills such as project management. Designers are tasked with the challenge of examining and reimagining a huge range of physical objects which we use in all aspects of our daily lives.

M.Tech. in Health, Safety and Environmental Engineering prepares professionals who will be able to:
• Interpret and apply legislative requirements, industry standards, and best practices in a variety of workplaces.
• Collect, manage, and interpret information and data to identify hazardous conditions and practices in a variety of workplaces.
• Prevent and control harm to workers, property, environment and the general public by conceiving, designing, and implementing alternative engineering and management systems and practices in compliance with laws and/ or employer policies by using principles of engineering, industrial safety, risk management, data analytics, automation, and state-of-the-art platforms, components and tools.

Mechanical Engineering is one of the primordial branches of engineering. The programme incorporates courses from the area of design, manufacturing, and thermal. Automobile designers are professionals who work on the visual appearance or aesthetics of a vehicle. They are also involved in the creation of new products that suit the needs of car segments for which the design is being catered. Automobile Design and Engineering is a course offered in combination with electrical, electronics, safety, and software engineering. It is highly productive for those who want to work in automotive development and manufacturing companies. Skills required include an artistic bent of mind along with knowledge of interiors and colour designing. An aspirant should also have technical expertise in ergonomics, vehicle body part design, and design software.

With the rapid technological advancements in mobile technology, integrated circuitry and increases in computer processor speeds, the future of mobile computing looks increasingly exciting. Mobile Computing is the ability to use portable computing devices in wireless enabled networks to stay connected and access data while on the move. As demand of technological environment in new era of computing technology, we offer B.Tech. in CS with specialisation in mobile computing.

The course objective is to provide students with an understanding of mobile computing technologies and how these technologies are utilised and integrated to meet specific business needs. The stream of Mobile Computing is specialisation and expertise oriented. The course also builds a solid foundation of software development skills and introduces the specific skills needed for developing mobile applications. Students will also gain a necessary understanding of current technologies and architectures that provide the network and communications infrastructure for mobile-enabled enterprise computer systems. Students will also develop skills in the design of modern network systems, using appropriate technologies, architectures and techniques.

BCA at JKLU is designed to offer application based learning in computer application through a cross-disciplinary and multi-perspective curriculum that focusses on building skills and a knowledge base for computer application development and IT administration. The B.Des. Programme begins with the common foundation programme for all disciplines.

The first year is a Common Foundation across different streams of design that enables you to acquire the requisite basics before embarking on three years of more specialised design education programme. Hands-on skill courses like Design drawing and Workshop skills like material manipulations, including working on a variety of materials like Wood, Bamboo, Sheet metal, Aluminium, and others form an integral part of the course curriculum.

Learn basic design theory, thorough grounding in elements of form, colour, and aesthetics besides the important sensitisation courses like Environmental Perception and History of Design that aim to give you a complete understanding and perspective of Design as a whole.
Apart from these regular inputs, you also get to learn basic computer skills, photography, printing basics, and presentations.
