The program consists of core and elective courses focused on the design and implementation of engineering technology and aimed at providing you with sound thinking and problem solving abilities. Applied visual art aims to develop the student as an independent art practitioner or designer. This Level 5 program covers a broad range of computing topics and skills including installation, configuration and administration of hardware and software systems; networking and associated services and technologies; security; database management; problem solving; IT service management; web and software design; and development. You'll also enhance your knowledge of professional, ethical and legal principles and practices, and develop your communication and interpersonal skills.

Within graduate diploma you will study all aspects of successful event management; subjects include project management, event planning and management, event logistics and event marketing and sponsorship. You will also get real world experience through team project work during your study.

This program has been designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge the industry requires to meet the increasing demand for outdoor leaders and guides and to prepare you for a varied, rewarding and adventurous career.

Learning from some of the most qualified educators and instructors in the country you'll become technically competent in a range of outdoor pursuits including sea kayaking, rock climbing, bushwalking and mountain biking. You'll gain skills in leadership, sustainability and environmental education, supervision, and instruction. You'll also learn how to plan, prepare, instruct and guide participants in a range of outdoor activities while maintaining safe, ethical and professional practice in familiar and unfamiliar outdoor environments. This will include assessing and managing emergency care situations in isolated locations.

The New Zealand Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Level 6) has been developed with input from industry. It is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge needed in an advanced and rapidly changing profession. The programme covers advanced medical and surgical nursing including suturing, in-house diagnostics, cytology, anaesthetic monitoring, surgical assistance, triage, dental hygiene, professional communication skills and the development of nursing services.

You'll learn through a mix of small group tutorials, full class discussions and clinical workshops. Work placement forms a large part of the programme. You'll be required to source your own work placement in at least one high quality veterinary practice and to seek their support of your studies throughout the program.

You will develop the attributes for professional social work practice in New Zealand as you engage in study integrating practice and community within the classroom. This programme is underpinned by a philosophy of bi-culturalism and anti-oppressive practice.

Our four year programme will take you from the fundamentals of professionalism, research skills, critical thinking and informed decision making, in your first year through to your second, third and fourth years when you will take these skills to an advanced level.

Each year has an integrated practice course where learning is linked to the practice environment. In the second, third and fourth years integrated practice includes significant time in social work agencies.
