The Master of Health Practice in Rehabilitation is ideal for health professionals who want to extend their practical knowledge and are ready for the next step in their career. It's designed for health professionals with at least three years of clinical experience. 

This specialisation is aimed at higher education teachers who want to enhance their professional learning and practice. Courses in the Postgraduate Diploma in Education in Higher Education also consider broader topics that impact higher education, including global factors, and leadership and collegial practice.

Oral health is vital for our general health. By successfully completing this oral health degree you can practise as an oral health therapist.

If you successfully complete the Bachelor of Health Science (Oral Health) you can register as an oral health therapist with the Dental Council of New Zealand. Graduates provide oral health assessment, diagnosis, management, treatment and preventive care for patients within the oral health therapy scope of practice.

You gain experience in our oral health simulation laboratory, and clinical experience at AUT’s oral health clinics and community oral health clinics in Auckland and around New Zealand. You also work on oral health promotion projects in communities around Auckland and gain valuable workplace experience in the field of oral health.

If you become a counsellor you help people deal with their feelings, better understand themselves, make decisions and create change in their lives. The Counselling major prepares you to work with a diverse client base as a counsellor.

You become familiar with the history and theory of counselling, and the relational counselling model. AUT's counselling degree includes 200 hours of counselling practice, bicultural learning, marae visits and knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi issues. This degree is suitable for adult students and those with appropriate life experience.

AUT counselling graduates are eligible to apply for provisional membership of New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) to begin practising as a counsellor.
