Massey’s Master of Veterinary Studies (MVS) is an internationally recognised degree, most suitable for those who would like to undertake a combination of taught courses and a research project. The programme can be built around your area of interest. For example, you could choose to specialise in epidemiology or public health, or you can develop your expertise across other areas of veterinary science by choosing a MVS without a specialisation. There are a wide range of taught courses for you to choose from, depending on your area of interest and the specialisation that you choose.

The social, economic, and cultural importance of the mass media for communication in modern life requires critical analysis and understanding. In a world where it is difficult to escape the impact of the media, media studies provides analysis. It gives you an understanding of the production, consumption, and content of the media industries. The approach is interdisciplinary – you’ll draw on on areas like:

You’ll also learn about the media industry's codes, conventions, and production techniques.

The Bachelor of Animal Science (Animal Nutrition and Growth) will help you understand how what animals eat affects their growth and health.

What will I learn?

The New Zealand meat industry is well recognised around the world for its pasture-raised product. In New Zealand we also have world-leading industries raising poultry and pigs. Nutrition is also extremely important for sport and companion animals. Improving nutrition can optimise the performance of animals in all these industries.

You will learn how animals digest food and what feeds are best for them. You’ll also learn how much they should be eating for the appropriate growth and development, performance and health.

A versatile major, the Bachelor of Business (Economics) trains you in understanding how the economy operates at both micro and macro levels. You will study the business environment, the role of competition and the connections between different sectors in the economy.  You will learn about the effects the world economy has on New Zealand business and people. This includes what the government can do to foster healthy businesses and advance innovation, but also about effects of excessive government interventions.

In this major you can specialise in a number of areas including: international trade and finance, resource and environmental economics, financial economics, managerial economics and public policy.
