Molecular cell biology encompasses a hugely important area of study for the 21st century. It unifies many disciplines, ranging from cell biology, physiology and chemistry to computer science, and from patent law and medicine, to bioprotection and food production. In the Bachelor of Science (Molecular Cell Biology) you will study the big questions of life:

A postgraduate diploma is the stepping stone to a research-based qualification such as a master’s degree. Massey University’s Postgraduate Diploma in Science and Technology (Zoology) gives you the opportunity to join the pathway to in-depth research at a master's level. The program consists of 90 credits of taught programs and 30 credits of research.

You may be in a government position and needing to know more about disease surveillance and/or food safety. Or, you may come from a veterinary background and be interested in learning more about animal health and the transmission of pathogens to humans (zoonosis).

In the Master of Veterinary Studies (Veterinary Public Health) you’ll learn from our world-leading experts how to help create solutions to reduce the impact of animal pathogens on human health. This includes the prevention and control of food and water-borne pathogens.
The Master of Veterinary Studies (Veterinary Public Health) is a research-focused qualification. It has a focus on issues around food safety, water quality and zoonotic diseases. These are issues that have a crossover between animal and human health.

The Graduate Diploma in Science and Technology gives you the opportunity to retrain in an area of science that interests you.If you wish to study at a postgraduate level but do not have the required prerequisites, the Graduate Diploma in Science and Technology can help you gain the credits and knowledge you need.

With Massey's Master of Engineering, you will develop a more in-depth understanding of an area of your choice, within the field of mechatronics.

The Master of Engineering Studies (Mechatronics) you will gain advanced knowledge in research methods, mechatronics and robotics, as well as additive manufacturing and system design and integrations. This is through the taught element of the qualification. You will then have the opportunity to develop these further in a postgraduate research project.

Specialise in Epidemiology for your Master of Veterinary Studies at Massey
Massey’s Master of Veterinary Studies (MVS) is an internationally recognised degree, most suitable for those who would like to undertake a combination of taught courses and a research project. There are a wide range of taught courses for you to choose from, depending on your area of interest and the endorsement that you choose.

With the Master of Veterinary Studies (Epidemiology) you’ll be able to work at a high level in the field. You’ll gain skills in study design and advanced skills in analysis of epidemiologic data.
You’ll learn how to critically evaluate the literature to make evidence-based decisions. The qualification will teach you how to design surveillance systems and population studies in order to determine the magnitude of health problems. You’ll be able to identify risk factors and evaluate interventions.

Massey’s Master of Finance combines the study of advanced finance theory with the choice of completing the qualification either by undertaking a Research option or a Professional option.

What will you learn?
Your study will focus on finance, but help you put this specialty into the context of other business disciplines.

This qualification has a focus on real-world learning – you can utilise our relationships with industry to draw on your own work experience. You will also learn the application of techniques in environments like our Trading and Investment Rooms – the first of their kind in New Zealand.

The Bachelor of Animal Science (Equine Science) will help you understand nutrition, growth, health, and performance in the equine athlete.

What will I learn?

The equine industry is large, diverse, and economically important both in New Zealand and worldwide. You’ll be prepared for a wide variety of equine enterprises anywhere in the world. The Equine Science major will give you knowledge of equine welfare, behavior, and health. You’ll also gain an understanding of performance nutrition and responses to training of horses.
