This degree program is offered by AUT at the Nelson Campus and is available to graduates of the Diploma in Applied Fitness and the new New Zealand Diplomas in Sport, Recreation and Exercise. After completing the NZ Diploma in Sport Recreation and Exercise.

The courses that make up this program are all relevant and applied so you are constantly learning information you can apply to your work on graduation. The degree does not contain specialisation, however in your third year you will complete a big project that reflects the area of sports and recreation you are interested in. Class sizes are small providing more contact with your tutors than at larger institutions and you will make good friends with your class mates. NMIT offers a Master of Applied Management pathway qualification. This qualification can be completed full time over 15 months, or part-time over a longer period. This Level 9 qualification brings together theory, applied practice and research, tailored to your needs and your industry.

As a student you will receive individual course plans that are designed around your needs, interests and career plans. If you already have a degree, or extensive business experience and are looking to enhance your professional career, whether in a technical or a business area, this program will give you an opportunity to extend your knowledge into a specialised field without having to complete another degree.

Through this program you will gain the skills and knowledge for entry-level positions in production and/or design roles within arts and design industries such as designers, technicians, machinists, or salespeople. Get started with Postgraduate study and pathway onto the Master of Applied Management. NMIT offers a Master of Applied Management pathway qualification. The Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Management is the first 10 months of the 15 month Master of Applied Management. You will complete the four core compulsory courses from the Master of Applied Management, plus four elective courses of your choice. This program aims to enable students to enhance their applied management skills and knowledge by focussing on more specific and in-depth aspects of management. The range of elective courses aim to provide options that will complement a range of particular professional experience and career aspirations.
