The Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education is a stimulating, flexibly-delivered programme that is tailored directly to your teaching context.

A variety of contemporary educational media, digital tools and experience-based learning approaches will be used to help you develop as a 21st Century educator; that is, a critically-reflective, dual-professional bringing expertise from your trade or profession to vocational education.

The Master of Fine Arts is an applied research degree benchmarked against national and international standards with a distinct emphasis on art-making and writing.The program is shaped by your proposal and can be completed in one discipline, or across several, and provides a qualification necessary for careers such as tertiary teaching, writing or critiquing, museum or gallery curatorship.

Practising artists will especially benefit from a focused, in-depth research project, culminating in a public exhibition and dissertation, reflecting your knowledge and competence in art practices and theories, and contemporary society and culture.

This program will allow you to demonstrate mastery of theoretically and procedurally sophisticated subject matter through a body of scholarly applied work, which is presented in a public forum and supported by a project or thesis.This could form the basis of scholarly journal articles. The work will respond to societal needs, address practice from multiple perspectives and be positioned within a wider framework of academic and applied research.

This qualification prepares you for doctoral level study, an academic career or a lead sport or exercise management role.

This one-year program has been designed to allow you to focus on a specific area of business that interests you most (e.g. Human Resource Management) or to develop your own personalised study pathway.

If you’ve got a degree in a particular area, this is a great chance to enhance it with some business skills to widen your career options.

Areas of focus include Business Transformation and Change, Event Management, Human Resource Management, Sales and Marketing, Strategic Management or Tourism Management.

This program has an emphasis on exploration and experimentation. You will develop individual projects which study ceramics as a medium with its own formal language, skills and history, within a broader context of fine arts and crafts.  

Successful completion of this program could lead to you becoming a successful practising artist, with the ability to understand and use your creativity to contribute significantly to your community.

Whatever kind of career you want to have across photography, video or film – we’ll support you to become industry-ready; developing a portfolio full of your best practice, experience and digital content so you can hit-the-ground-running when you graduate.   

With a focus on self-initiated projects, entrepreneurship and live briefs from real clients, this is basically a mentored beginning to work.

As well as technical photographic skills, we’ll teach you the essential professional and business skills you’ll need to get your practice up-and-running commercially.

All business organisations need highly capable and competent members of a team who demonstrate the potential to lead staff, ensure targets align with strategic objectives, manage projects, and contribute to business planning to achieve high performance and productivity. Amongst other things, you will learn how to lead others to implement activities that lead to high productivity, manage projects within scope, resources and time, and develop a positive workplace culture and team engagement.

Graduates of the Leadership and Management strand will have the skills and knowledge to work.

This qualification will help you extend and deepen your knowledge of the underpinning base theories and procedures used in the practice environment, in a wider and more encompassing scope than within our Postgraduate Certificate program.You will also gain a greater understanding of the roles of those who are working with you.

You will have completed an applied project, which allows you to address your practice from multiple perspectives and to position your practice within a wider industry context.This qualification prepares you for further postgraduate study or a career in advanced sport or exercise.

Then this is the qualification for you! You will learn how to effectively implement processes that actively support and enhance the visitor experience and will evaluate local, national and international tourism operating environments.
An educational field trip to an iconic New Zealand tourism destination is included. You will have the chance to engage in tourism activities first hand to build your experience of the industry. This will help to build your knowledge and connect the theory you have learned with practice.

This degree will teach you how to become a creative maker, thinker and active agent in a local, national and global context. A qualification in the Visual Arts will allow you to find employment in a diverse range of professions such as practising artist, curator, art educator or researcher. A variety of roles within the digital and film industries would also be possible.

Gain technical, academic and personal skills which will be transferable to a wide variety of fields including education, design, management and marketing. This qualification provides a perfect bridge into further learning as you select from a range of subjects initially and then move into full specialisation, focusing your talents in your chosen field.
