From financial management to applied econometrics, our Finance with Economics degree will set you up for a career in the world of business.

You want the space to grasp new ideas, to explore the theory behind financial economics and its use in the real world.

Finance and economics isn’t just about numbers. It’s about understanding the importance of those numbers, analysing and interpreting them to better appreciate how people and the businesses around us really work.

Our BSc (Hons) Finance with Economics degree will introduce you to financial management, applied econometrics and much more. We’ll guide you through the issues you might encounter and equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to formulate critical business decisions.

Our course is delivered through a blend of online learning and residential sessions to give you a flexible, practical and career-enhancing learning experience. As a guide, we suggest you plan for five to seven hours of online study per week when you're not attending a residential.

As well as completing an undergraduate major project, you'll learn about: 

• Tinnitus assessment and management
• Managing people with specialist needs
• Implantable hearing devices
• Hearing in children
• Advances in adult audiology.

You'll study using our Learning management system, CANVAS, and there are also seven three-or-four-day residential weeks between September and April. (For part-time students, these sessions will be spread over two academic years.) You will attend both class and lab-based taught sessions with fellow students, and engage in student-led discussions and practical assignments.

We'll confirm the dates of residential sessions as soon as we can, so that you can plan around your work and book your accommodation in advance.
Please note that this course doesn't currently provide a direct route to the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP). However, you can pursue an alternative pathway to registration after qualification.

As a BA (Hons) Film Production student at ARU, you will be supported by award-winning, lecturers whose work has been screened on all the major UK television networks, as well as at multiple international film festivals. They have won Emmys, HUGOs and BAFTAs and continue to practice.

Our BA (Hons) Visual Effects Technical Art will help you become an artist skilled in the latest procedural 3D techniques, who can work alongside programmers, developers and other artists.Using the latest procedural content creation software, you’ll learn to design and deploy solutions to problems encountered in the video games and visual effects industries.

As well as exploring the key areas of working with VFX and computer graphics, our course will keep you up to date with the latest techniques and trends. We'll also help you identify the supporting skills and knowledge that you’ll need to succeed in the creative industries.

Throughout your Visual Effects Technical Art degree, our expert staff are on hand to offer support and feedback. They’ll help you create an online presence to showcase your work. All our lecturers and staff are researchers and practitioners, and their work reflects current VFX practice.

As a BA (Hons) Criminology and Policing student at ARU, we’ll help you work towards your career goals from day one.

Through our relationship with regional police forces and practitioners, you’ll have opportunities to engage with professionals from the criminal justice sector through guest lectures (including those organised by our Policing Institute for the Eastern Region, workshop events, study trips and research projects.

You may also have opportunities to work closely with local police forces. A recent student project, sponsored by Cambridge Constabulary, carried out research on police officer demographics and recruitment.

Enhance your knowledge and skills on our MSc Psychology, which is accredited by the British Psychological Society. Our Masters course is perfect if you have an undergraduate degree, and want to get Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society - or simply learn more about psychology.

Psychology and the exploration of the mind has been discussed for millennia, although it’s still young as a practice. This course will help you develop the scientific understanding of the different perspectives and theoretical approaches within the core areas of psychology, and the relations between them.

You’ll learn how psychology is influenced by many different factors. Through our modules you’ll see how physiology can influence someone, with the way our bodies react to the chemicals they create, the impact of external influences, like society, how different languages change the way you look at the world, and the importance of childhood development.

You’ll also learn how to design research projects, from the first idea through to how to make it work, explore different research methods, and gain the skills to manage a project ethically and professionally. You’ll design and conduct your own research project, and acquire all the skills required by the British Psychological Society (BPS) to register with them as a graduate member (in order to be eligible to register you will need an overall pass mark of 50% in your degree).
