Our Zoology BSc (Hons) course will see you joining the likes of Charles Darwin, Dian Fossey, Jane Goodall and David Attenborough in exploring and explaining the diversity of animals from all over the globe.

You’ll build an understanding and skill-set in anatomy and physiology, behaviour, genetics, ecology and evolution, and the importance of wildlife conservation.

As part of your studies, you’ll get the opportunity to learn hands-on zoology skills – with plenty of time in our labs in Cambridge, as well as on field trips around the UK and beyond. Recognised by the Royal Society of Biology, our BSc (Hons) Zoology degree is a practical subject with plenty of opportunity to learn and practise new skills, both in the lab and out in the field.

Take part in cutting-edge research in our specialist labs, closely linked to Cambridge University, and study zoology in marine and terrestrial systems, in both laboratory and field settings.

There’s an opportunity to join paid field trips too. You could experience rutting red deer on the island of Rum, investigate world-class zoos in the Netherlands, study practical marine biology in Scotland, dive in the Red Sea or even spend time learning about ecology and conservation in Africa. We also offer an optional placement year as part of your Zoology degree.

By studying a Masters in Brand Management, you’ll gain a substantial grounding in the theory that drives the marketing function, and the skills you need to create and manage a successful brand. Taking real-world challenges as our starting point, there's a strong focus on practical, hands-on learning, including the option to take a placement in industry.

We’ll deconstruct brands to understand the essence of their appeal, how they create demand for their product, and the ways in which they can cut across cultural boundaries. In doing this we’ll examine a range of marketing techniques and strategies.

We’ll also consider the changing environment in which brands operate and their response to innovation, or ‘disruption’. You'll look at the challenges brands face around ethics and sustainability, and how they can communicate their value proposition to consumers.

Throughout your BA (Hons) Sociology degree, you’ll learn from sociologists who specialise in social policy and theory and undertake research into a wide range of sociological issues including 'race' and ethnicity, urban sociology, delinquency and disorder, the sociology of sport, notions of belonging, governance, moral regulation, social constructions of alcohol, gender-based violence, social justice, and social relations in marginalised communities.

You’ll also prepare for your future career, with the opportunity to conduct your own community or workplace research, gaining valuable practical experience and insight into different approaches to social issues. You’ll consider how you can apply this understanding by researching, pitching and evaluating an idea that could potentially make a positive contribution to society. You can also take an optional placement year; this might be in a governmental organisation, NGO, charity or social enterprise – wherever your own interests lead you.

You want to hone your legal knowledge, learn from professionals and gain practical experience.

If you hope to use your legal skills in other areas – such as business, finance, policy making or public service – our law course will give you the transferable skills you need.  

Many of our students choose to study law because they’re motivated by the idea of helping people. And so, from your first year, you’ll have the opportunity to work in our law clinics in Cambridge or Chelmsford. With support from qualified solicitors, you’ll advise members of the public on legal issues.

As you move into Year 2, you can also take part in our mentoring scheme, and get advice and guidance from a legal professional

It’s well worth joining our student Law Society, too. They take part in national competitions such as Mooting, and have a track record of success. It could be a great achievement to add to your CV.

All this practical experience is, of course, backed up by classroom teaching. Our lecturers combine academic modules with those that focus on areas of professional practice, such as human rights law.

As you progress through the LLB (Hons) Law course, you’ll have the chance to take optional modules and explore areas of law that are of particular interest to you.

Together, we’ll explore the main principles of psychology, with a strong focus on clinical and developmental psychology, mental health, and therapies and interventions. You’ll also develop the scientific, analytical and research skills you need to become a psychologist.

Our BSc (Hons) Psychology with Clinical Psychology degree will help you understand people: their behaviour, emotions and thoughts.

It will also broaden your understanding of illness and healthcare, as you consider the links between psychological disorders and people’s overall health and wellbeing. Psychology and the exploration of the mind has been discussed for millennia, although it’s still young as a practice. This course will help you develop the scientific understanding of the different perspectives and theoretical approaches within the core areas of psychology, and the relations between them.

You’ll learn how psychology is influenced by many different factors. Through our modules you’ll see how physiology can influence someone, with the way our bodies react to the chemicals they create, the impact of external influences, like society, how different languages change the way you look at the world, and the importance of childhood development.

You’ll also learn how to design research projects, from the first idea through to how to make it work, explore different research methods, and gain the skills to manage a project ethically and professionally. You’ll design and conduct your own research project, and acquire all the skills required by the British Psychological Society (BPS) to register with them as a graduate member (in order to be eligible to register you will need an overall pass mark of 50% in your degree).

This course will give you an understanding of how international relations theory is applied to real-world policy and strategy, and the practical problems involved in this.

You’ll examine the theory and definition of the ‘state’ and relations between different states, and the roles of other institutions and organisations, like multinational companies and transnational crime organisations. All your studies will contain a strong vocational element, with a focus on how theory affects, and is affected, by real events on the ground.

As well as this foundation in general international relations theory and practice, you’ll also have the chance to focus on your own areas of interest. Our Sport and Exercise Therapy degree course will give you the skills to work with a range of individuals, using evidence-based practice to bring them back to optimal levels of fitness and performance.

You're likely to find yourself working pitch-side, dealing with a range of emergencies, behind the scenes, helping athletes recover from injury and also advising on how to train for optimum performance.

But there are opportunities outside of professional sport too. Our course recognises broader concerns about low levels of physical activity, leading to poor health and an increased susceptibility to injury. We are all living longer, and with that, we need professionals to help support an increasing range of ages and not always working in the sports environment. There is an emerging and urgent need for qualified healthcare professionals to work with different groups or individuals in rehabilitation and exercise referral. This means you, as a sport therapist, will be busy when you graduate!
