DMU’s Music Technology BA is a distinctive, dynamic and market-leading course that challenges conventions in music composition and performance and explores the extraordinary musical possibilities offered by new technologies. You will study digital and post-digital history and aesthetics to inspire your creative vision and link your music meaningfully to the world. You will gain a strong theoretical understanding of film history and theory, and explore areas such as Disney, Warner Bros and the business of the Film Studio, Cinemas of the World and Fan and Material Cultures. You will also develop practical skills in diverse areas including film making, film reviewing, screen archives and film festival planning.

You’ll learn how to analyse markets, apply marketing theories to different scenarios and contexts, identify marketing opportunities and use these to help resolve business issues, and learn about the important role social media and digital marketing play for companies and organisations.

This programme will help provide you with transferable skills useful in the criminal justice sector and allied career fields. You can develop your practical experience through a wide range of volunteering opportunities in local criminal justice agencies, including HM Prison and Probation Service, youth offending services and victim support.

This is an applied course and you will learn first-hand from a team of experienced academics who have strong links with the British Society of Criminology and the British Sociological Association.

You will study a range of topics, including Crime and Punishment in Contemporary Society, Crime, Risk and Community Safety, and Young People and the Criminal Justice System.
