On this course you'll explore non-fiction, poetry, fiction, children's literature and writing for digital games – learning to draft, edit and pitch your creations. By working on literary, community and industry-engaged projects, a final portfolio and an online profile, you'll also develop industry-level confidence and outstanding creative work.

You will:

• Produce illustrated anthologies, organise mini-festivals, or work with a business as part of your third-year collaborative project
• Attend our exciting guest lecture series, where you'll build relationships and contacts within all facets of the literary world
• Have the opportunity to attend and participate in literary events such as The London Book Fair and the North Cornwall Book Festival
• Take inspiration from The Lighthouse – the glorious workspace at the heart of our community – which hosts everything from skills and craft workshops to board game sessions, literary quizzes and poetry readings

You will:

• Get networked, learning from our award-winning staff, together with visiting professionals taking part in masterclasses. In the last year, this has included Carol Morley, Jonathan Glazer, Rubi Shah, Dan Perri, Emily Morgan, Joel Collins and Kim Longinotto.
• Develop gradually by learning through doing, engaging in reflective and imaginative thinking and using professional filmmaking production workflows on a course that's endorsed by ScreenSkills, the industry-led skills body for the creative industries.
• Get the chance to work on our in-house micro-budget short and feature films through the Sound/ Image Cinema Lab – including Bait (Mark Jenkin, 2019), Make Up (Claire Oakley, 2020), Long Way Back (Brett Harvey, 2020), The Tape (Martha Tilston, 2020), and the forthcoming FilmFour production Enys Men (Mark Jenkin, 2021).

You’ll learn to tell stories in an inventive and meaningful way, within a specialist facility, working with industry professionals. A focus on narrative, craft and practical making, alongside critical thinking, will help you develop the skills needed to succeed in the fast moving television industry.

You will:

• Work on professional commercial briefs with MAYN, our award-winning in-house creative agency. 
• Benefit from opportunities for industry-based placements and work experience. 
• Attend masterclasses, this year these have included showrunners, Emma Frost and Matthew Graham; directors Sam Masud, Stroma Cairns and Jon East, director of Killing Eve and Lost in Space; and Otto Bathurst, director of Black Mirror and Peaky Blinders.
• Have the opportunity to apply for The Hothouse, a placement with the acquisitions team at NBCUniversal in London.
• Study in a facility that's part of CILECT, the global association of the world's best film, television and animation schools.

You'll benefit from the collaborative environment at AMATA, where you'll have the opportunity to work with students from multiple disciplines and gain access to world-class dance studios, as well as practice and performance spaces.

You will:

• Develop your physical and technical skills, as well as performance and choreographic capabilities, while engaging with dance histories, theories and contexts
• Build industry links through workshops, guest lectures and visits from celebrated international practitioners such as Company Chameleon, Ballet Lorent and Siobhan Davies

• Learn to utilise our extensive range of technical sound, lighting and recording equipment, to enable and realise your production ideas and visions

Working at an industry level, you’ll research, experiment and innovate to build a unique creative portfolio in a collaborative environment. Underpinning your practice will be a grounding in the history, theory, professional contexts and working practices of photography.  

 You will:

• Learn actively through workshop-based teaching, with sessions in our open-plan Learning Hub, around the campus and beyond. 
• Access state-of-the-art facilities, including studios and dark rooms, with a range of digital and analogue cameras. 
• Exhibit your work and enter competitions with support from our staff. 
• Have the chance to undertake at least two weeks of work experience in your second year, with options for local, national and international placements. 
• Benefit from a range of opportunities for professional development, including publishing magazines, curating events and organising exhibitions.
