This course is ideal if you're interested in film and creative industry careers beyond production, such as scriptwriting, journalism and reviewing, festival programming, museum and exhibit curation, and promotion and marketing. The course examines creative writing and film within historical, cultural and geographical contexts, rather than in isolation. You'll explore how writing and film are shaped by their surroundings. Through analysis of published writing, you'll consider language and style. In Year 3, the course culminates in a major research project, covering a topic of your choice. This course, one of a suite of digital media courses, enables you to study professional digital media practice in a microstudio environment with a focus on the design skills necessary for the field of games development. Through a student-centred, project-based curriculum, you will work as a games designer to develop your specialist skills while working as part of an interdisciplinary team with students from across the full programme.

You'll study civil engineering subjects, such as structures, hydraulics, geotechnics, construction materials, mathematics and surveying. You'll also study the design and construction of sustainable infrastructures, focusing on water engineering, transport, highway and the energy sector.

If you are interested in becoming a construction manager, ensuring that projects are completed on time, to budget and to a specified quality, this course is ideal. It combines an emphasis on management with a grounding in the technical aspects of construction and engineering.

On this Philosophy and Contemporary Critical Theory MA course you'll study key works of critical theory in relation to the social and political problems of the present. It allows you to combine study of the two main traditions of critical theory, the Frankfurt School and French structuralism and anti-humanism, as well as engage with work by thinkers who have become influential only in the last two decades, e.g. Agamben, Spivak, Badiou, Butler and Deleuze.

While addressing contemporaries around questions like social justice, political power, class, identity, representation, and so on, this MA in critical theory grounds its problems and concepts in their specific philosophical context, with particular reference to the foundational work of Kant, Hegel and Marx.

Kingston University has its own scene-of-crime house located on site, which is used to recreate crime scenes and enables you to put your investigative skills into practice. The property's garden is used by the forensic team's archaeologist for field investigations.

Lecturers on the course have wide experience in the forensics sector and many have worked either as forensic scientists or as expert witnesses. They are also actively engaged in forensic research, and are supported by visiting speakers from leading forensic consultancies.
