This course will enhance your knowledge of the clinical applications of psychology and build practical experience to help your future career.

You will be taught by both clinically active psychologists and research active academics. You will learn theories of psychopathology from childhood to adulthood, and clinical applications of psychology in health and well-being. The course offers skills training in counselling and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), and develops your awareness of professional issues relevant to clinical practitioners.

This course focuses on biological processes, rather than chemical ones. It examines how drugs affect their target areas (such as major organs and systems) and how the body reacts.

You'll study the treatment of cancer and infectious diseases, drugs that act on the brain (such as antidepressants), new drugs that treat cardiovascular disease, and the issues of drug abuse and addiction.

This course, accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science, provides an in-depth understanding of disease processes and diagnostic techniques. It links academic knowledge to the practical applications of biomedical science, particularly in relation to modern diagnostic methods. You can choose to study one of two pathways – haematology or medical microbiology. It combines the study of industry techniques with advanced construction management of projects.

This course provides a strategic overview of construction management issues, as well as a deep and broad knowledge of advanced project management techniques. You will gain an extensive knowledge of legal and contractual systems relevant to the construction industry, as well as how design and construction work is priced and how these prices are used to control costs within a firm. You will also focus on the systems used to control the quality and safety measures on a project and how to manage and build relationships between contributing parties working on a project. Past projects have examined areas such as determining caffeine and its metabolites in human serum samples using GC-MS, and synthesis and use of compounds as probes for biochemical reactions.

You will also have the opportunity to study magazine design, production, fashion and sport or data journalism. Finally, you will carry out a 12–15,000 word dissertation or a related practical project.
