Biological sciences form the basis of many new areas of science and technology. They are the foundation of our understanding of a diverse range of subjects – from evolution, genetics and diversity to medicine, drug and human development.

On this course, you can choose to study human, medical or genetics and molecular biology.

This course offers key skills in pharmaceutical analysis, including measurement, scientific practice, evaluation and interpretation of data. Past projects have examined areas such as determining caffeine and its metabolites in human serum samples using GC-MS, and synthesis and use of compounds as probes for biochemical reactions.

You'll also learn the computer science that underpins programming, such as requirements analysis and design and network communications.

You'll be able to participate in Game Jams, working in a team over a 24-hour period to create games and attend optional trips (such as the PC Gamer Weekender).
