With very few budding writers making a living from writing alone, this course offers creative writers the chance to learn not only the craft of writing, but also current trends in publishing from world-renowned professionals. It offers the opportunity to develop a creative writing portfolio at the same time as getting to grips with how the publishing process works.

You'll benefit from teaching staff who have practical experience of working in publishing and/or creative writing industries, attend a series of masterclasses across the disciplines and work on live projects for Kingston University Press.

We have exceptional links with major publishers, such as Hachette Penguin Random House, Bloomsbury and Macmillan; and you will have the opportunity to enter your work into competitions sponsored by The Bookseller magazine and Faber and Faber. There are also opportunities to work on live projects for Kingston University Press.

The philosophy of the Environmental Management MSc programmes centres on the need for new environmental professionals: people with a strong cross-disciplinary understanding of the societal, economic, and environmental challenges posed by the emerging sustainable environmental management agenda.

The course aims to provide you with the in-depth knowledge and the essential practical and evaluative skills needed to give leadership for low carbon, resource efficient, sustainable futures in diverse global contexts. It will provide a good basis for careers in local government, NGOs, major international companies, independent consultants, and in education (such as research and enterprise).

The final masters award title will be reflected by your chosen pathway:

• Environmental Management MSc – this core pathway explores the rationale behind the exploitation of natural environments. It provides you with detailed knowledge and understanding of the important relationships between sustainable environmental management and natural ecosystems and the value of adopting an integrated approach to studying both.
• Environmental Management (Energy) MSc – this pathway is timely, nationally and internationally relevant, given the world's energy needs, as well as the surrounding political debates regarding fossil fuels and increasingly, renewables, which form such an essential component of the world's existence.

Are you looking for a course that prepares you for the demands of a career in journalism? By studying journalism at Kingston, you'll develop skills in digital journalism, mobile reporting, video and social media, news and feature writing. You'll also study the context of journalism within society.

This degree can be tailored to your interests and career goals. Subjects include broadcast journalism, data journalism, magazine journalism, visual storytelling, or international, business, fashion or sports journalism. You'll have the opportunity to produce your own live digital and print publications. Core subjects include news production, video, layout, ethics and media law. There's also the opportunity to pursue a research project and to study abroad at one of our partner universities.

This course will enable you to gain a strong background in the theory of analytical and forensic techniques and how to apply them to complex problems such as those encountered at crime scenes. It emphasises the key skills required in this specialised area of science, including good measurement and scientific practice, sample collection and chain of custody, evaluation and interpretation of data, and constructing expert witness reports.

Kingston University has its own scene-of-crime house located on site, which is used to recreate crime scenes and enables you to put your investigative skills into practice. The property's garden is used by the forensic team's archaeologist for field investigations.

Lecturers on the course have wide experience in the forensics sector and many have worked either as forensic scientists or as expert witnesses. They are also actively engaged in forensic research, and are supported by visiting speakers from leading forensic consultancies.

You will be trained in science research methods and learn about the techniques used in molecular biology. You will study the biology of disease, tumour biology, immunology, molecular oncology, haematological malignancy, plus diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for cancer.

In addition to an understanding of the principles and practice of core topics in medical science, you will gain in-depth knowledge of oncology topics and their relationship to other medical disciplines.

Your research project can be carried out with one of our life science research groups or in your workplace if you are a part-time student. It is often an excellent selling point when looking for a job or promotion.

Are you interested in theatre and performance? Are you keen to explore creative writing, such as scriptwriting, poetry, prose and fiction?

If so, this course is ideal. It combines two subjects which naturally overlap and will prepare you for a career in writing or in theatre, or for careers that combine both, such as scriptwriting.

Energising seminars and workshops will explore how writing works in the theatre industry. You'll develop texts with performers, rehearse readings and participate in full theatre productions. Practical knowledge is shared through guest masterclasses from playwrights such as Laura Wade, Roy Williams and award-winner, Winsome Pinnock.

This course offers a cross-disciplinary insight into the changing landscape of the media industries from mass communication to the new digital age.

The course nurtures and builds on your individual experience as a media user or amateur content creator, but it also enhances your awareness and understanding of how media are shaping the world we live in today, and how humanity will evolve within Artificial Intelligence and environmental concerns.

The course offers a diverse curriculum covering media histories, media now, and future media.

Media studies have been described as "the defining subject of our age". So when you choose this Media and Communications MA, you will be developing your professional portfolio of media and communication projects. You'll explore different aspects of the media industries and professions such as strategic communication, media production, PR, advocacy, marketing and advertising, digital art, creative writing and so many other areas which speak to your individual interests and potential future career paths.

It combines the study of industry techniques with advanced construction management of projects.

This course provides a strategic overview of construction management issues, as well as a deep and broad knowledge of advanced project management techniques. You will gain an extensive knowledge of legal and contractual systems relevant to the construction industry, as well as how design and construction work is priced and how these prices are used to control costs within a firm. You will also focus on the systems used to control the quality and safety measures on a project and how to manage and build relationships between contributing parties working on a project. Through a research thesis, you will be able to choose an area of specialisation.

On this course, you'll evaluate many of society's current issues and learn how psychology and criminology can raise questions and find answers.

You'll gain a deeper insight into the human mind and behaviour, develop an understanding of how we behave, think and interact, and study how we respond to crime, criminal behaviour and victimisation. You'll find out why individuals offend, how their crimes affect society and how the criminal justice system operates.

Throughout the degree, you'll develop skills valued by employers, such as teamwork, communication, time and task management skills, statistical analysis of data, problem-solving and the ability to critically evaluate evidence.
