The philosophy of the Environmental Management MSc programmes centres on the need for new environmental professionals: people with a strong cross-disciplinary understanding of the societal, economic, and environmental challenges posed by the emerging sustainable environmental management agenda.

The course aims to provide you with the in-depth knowledge and the essential practical and evaluative skills needed to give leadership for low carbon, resource efficient, sustainable futures in diverse global contexts. The final masters award title will be reflected by your chosen pathway:

• Environmental Management MSc – this core pathway explores the rationale behind the exploitation of natural environments. It provides you with detailed knowledge and understanding of the important relationships between sustainable environmental management and natural ecosystems and the value of adopting an integrated approach to studying both.
• Environmental Management (Energy) MSc – this pathway is timely, nationally and internationally relevant, given the world's energy needs, as well as the surrounding political debates regarding fossil fuels and increasingly, renewables, which form such an essential component of the world's existence.

Quantity surveyors play a key role in the construction industry, ensuring that development costs are appropriately and accurately managed. Kingston University is a long-established Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors partnership university, and this course will equip you with the skills and knowledge to start you on a career that offers enormous scope for team working, travel and financial rewards.

Whatever your first degree, this course will help you apply your skills and abilities to the quantity surveying profession. Through project and team work, you will develop knowledge and understanding of procurement, construction contracts, construction economics and cost planning. You will also be trained in research methodology. Through a dissertation (research project), you will be able to focus on an area of interest, gaining valuable research skills. This course offers the knowledge and skills for designing, developing and operating secure IP-based networks. It offers practical skills in the specification, design, modelling and implementation of software and hardware. You will gain specialist knowledge of digital communications, multimedia communications, wireless networks and security issues. You will study the technologies of LTE and 5G wireless networks and the Internet of Things.

You can combine this course with management studies. The Management Studies pathway is ideal if you aspire to a management position in the industry. The aims of the course are to:

On this practical course, you'll develop practical coaching skills as well as studying the science behind effective coaching, performance, leadership and sports analysis. You'll have access to sophisticated equipment to measure the physiological responses to exercise and analyse sports movements and skills.

Modules cover psychology, motivation, human physiology, anatomy, biomechanics and notational analysis. A project or dissertation on a selected topic will develop your independent learning skills.

Please note this course doesn't offer specific professional coaching qualifications but does provide the scientific knowledge to achieve qualification up to United Kingdom Coaching Certificate (UKCC) Level 3/4.

If you have a passion for the craft of theatre, this practical course could be for you. It covers skills and methods in theatre making and performance, key approaches to interpreting performance and theatre design. You'll be taught through inspirational workshops, public performances and theatre-based lectures.

On this course, you'll explore important phases in theatre history as well as contemporary plays, devising companies, directors and other practitioners. The course culminates in a major Production Project module.

It is dedicated to postgraduate study and research in the tradition of modern European (or 'continental') philosophy.  You will be able to study in more depth and with a more intense research focus than is possible in a one-year MA.

Behavioural decision science applies psychological insights into human behaviour to explain how, when, and why people make decisions.

This course, based in the Psychology Department, explores theory and research in behavioural decision science, and examines the application of psychology, behavioural science, and behavioural economics to policy, intervention, and behaviour change in areas such as health, finance, sustainability, and consumer behaviour.

You will gain psychological research methods skills, and critically examine theory and research in four areas of behavioural decision science: Cognitive Psychology, Judgement and Decision Making, Social Psychology, and Decision Neuroscience.

A placement module will build on your workplace or research skills and develop new skills that employers seek. The Behavioural Decision Science MSc prepares you for a variety of private and public sector jobs that require a core understanding of human behaviour and decision-making.
