With very few budding writers making a living from writing alone, this course offers creative writers the chance to learn not only the craft of writing, but also current trends in publishing from world-renowned professionals. It offers the opportunity to develop a creative writing portfolio at the same time as getting to grips with how the publishing process works.

You'll benefit from teaching staff who have practical experience of working in publishing and/or creative writing industries, attend a series of masterclasses across the disciplines and work on live projects for Kingston University Press.

We have exceptional links with major publishers, such as Hachette Penguin Random House, Bloomsbury and Macmillan; and you will have the opportunity to enter your work into competitions sponsored by The Bookseller magazine and Faber and Faber. There are also opportunities to work on live projects for Kingston University Press.

This course, one of a suite of digital media courses, enables you to study professional digital media practice in a microstudio environment with a focus on the programming skills necessary for the field of games development. Through a student-centred project-based curriculum, you will work as a games programmer to develop your specialist skills while working as part of an interdisciplinary team with students from across the full programme.

This combined dance and drama degree has been designed with a strong practical emphasis, and a focus on London's vibrant multicultural arts scene.

The Dance and Drama BA (Hons) degree is designed to allow you to develop your own identities as informed dance and theatre-makers. All the modules are taught by practising journalists with a range of experience and contacts. As well as teaching you practical skills, the course will engage you in discussion and debate about the state and future of the industry, and the legal, political and ethical context in which journalists operate.

Alongside your core modules, you can choose from a range of specialisms, including Sports Journalism, Data Journalism, Foreign Correspondence, Feature-writing, Fashion Journalism, Creative Non-fiction, Visual Journalism and Broadcast Journalism, where you will cover everything from making TV and radio packages to voice training.

Cyber security, the umbrella term for computer, network and information security is of increasing importance – new legislation, technologies, vulnerabilities and threats necessitate frequent system updates.

This course offers a critical awareness of current developments and future trends in cryptography, network security and mobile/wireless security. You will explore techniques and technologies to combat threats such as malware, social engineering, data leakage or zero-day attacks, based on understanding secure authentication mechanisms, access control, intrusion detection, information security policies and user education. This course is an ideal first step towards a pharmaceutical career. It examines the science behind the preparation, supply and monitoring of medicines. You'll study law, ethics, dispensing practice, the role of hospitals, community, GP practice, care home and industrial pharmacists.

Working alongside other future healthcare professionals, you'll talk to patients about their conditions and treatment. Through case studies, you'll learn how chemistry, pharmacology and pharmaceutics affect clinical practice. In Year 4 you'll complete a research-based project, for which you'll receive specialist tuition.

How can we better understand today's social inequalities, and what can we do to solve them? What impact has globalisation had on our every day lives? How does our culture and society shape our identity and how we evaluate others? These are the types of questions we examine in our sociology degree.

You'll look at many areas of social life, such as gender, race and class, family, migration, creative industries and fashion, to understand how power operates, how individual behaviour, norms and values are shaped by the social world, and how conflict exists and is resolved.

You'll make connections with ideas and arguments from other social sciences, such as psychology, criminology, and politics. You'll take your learning out of the classroom, broadening your experience of work environments and cultural spaces such as museums and galleries.

To succeed in this business, publishers need excellent product-development, consumer marketing and digital technology skills. They also need to be creative problem solvers, with great organisational and communication skills, outstanding attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with others. The best publishers are those who can think on their feet and embrace and exploit new challenges.

This course focuses on literature that explores the limits of human experience and contravenes cultural boundaries. You will consider how writing has been a catalyst for social and political change.

You will develop your understanding of literary and theoretical texts and sharpen your skills of literary research, writing and analysis.

Option modules enable you to examine a range of contentious issues across historical periods and
genres. Through a 15,000 word dissertation, you will research a subject of your choice, with support and supervision from a specialist member of staff.
