• Focus on three main areas: programming and software engineering; art, concept and asset production; and game design studies, practice and theory

We are also members of industry network, Game Republic, where past students have won awards from industry judges in the Student Showcase Competition.

Final year students also have the opportunity to showcase their work in front of leading employers at the end of year degree show. You can see some of their work in the Leeds School of Arts Festival. Previous years have seen many of our students gain job offers through the showcase opportunities.

As part of this course you’ll:

• Gain the skills to work with children and young people who are experiencing mental health related issues
• Develop a critical and in-depth understanding of mental health and its relationship to children, young people and families within a changing and fluid society
• Explore medical and psychological models of practice and look at child and adolescent mental health from the position of social intervention
• Learn to draw on key interventions such as social pedagogy, relationship-based practice, playwork and community work as methodologies
• Use the social model of mental health and children and family practice to contribute to and co-produce knowledge in a collaborative, practical and participatory learning environment

You’ll develop the expertise needed to become an ethical and informed planner and help make a difference to the communities and environments where people live and work.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Follow large and small local planning projects from their initial proposal through to their finished sites
• Use SPSS research software and geographic information system (GIS) software
• Engage with experts from industry through field trips, live projects and guest lectures - previous speakers have included planning lawyers and urban designers
• Work with a community group or local council to put together a neighbourhood plan, adding to your technical know-how and strengthening your communication skills

If you take a paid work placement in your third year, you’ll develop and enhance your employability skills.

As well as having the option to gain experience on a placement, you’ll take part in workshops and work on a consultancy project within a start-up business.

Our guest lecture series will help give you access to the enterprise expertise present in Leeds, the northern powerhouse of the region's businesses and economy. Past speakers include the CEO of the London Stock Exchange, the Chief Executive of the British Bankers Association and the Chief Economist of Yorkshire Bank.

Accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), this course allows you to study a range of contemporary themes within human geography, including globalisation, sustainability, identity and the diversity of human living.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Learn about the role that planning plays in helping to shape our cities and towns and make them better places for us to live
• Engage with live projects through a wide range of field trips, from half-day site visits in Leeds to week-long field trips further afield, giving you the opportunity to apply your classroom learning in the real world
• Be entitled to free student membership of the RTPI

Many of our academics are active in or have previous experience of working in planning practice, and guest lecturers provide further professional links. This also leads to opportunities for hands-on experience via participation in real-world projects and consultations.

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession which involves working with people to improve their own health and wellbeing. Learn to use physical approaches to promote, maintain and restore physical function on this Chartered Society of Physiotherapy approved programme.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Develop collaborative working skills, putting them into practice working with patients, their carers and other health professionals
• Be encouraged to reflect on practice to aid your professional development
• Experience placements within a variety of health and social care settings. These could include sports clubs, schools and private clinics in specialist areas such as cardio vascular, respiratory, musculoskeletal, neurology and paediatrics
