This versatile master's degree combines cognitive and clinical approaches to neuroscience. It seeks to apply neuroscientific techniques to further your understanding of the human mind and explores the underlying mechanisms associated with disease and disorders of the nervous system. You will enrol on a four-year course which includes the one-year foundation year. The number of students who progress to degree study is very high. The Foundation Year in Performing Arts is taught in our excellent studios and facilities at our Hendon campus by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses. You are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures.

During the course, there's an emphasis on applying practice to theory in a business environment. Biological science of the Third Millennium. encompasses and unites concepts, techniques and data from many allied sciences to provide a broader understanding of Life’s processes and interactions. The programme at Middlesex University is unique in combining a range of modules that cover a wide spectrum of biological sciences, but also integrates an emphasis on skills and experience acquisition that provides you with a valuable and marketable skill set. It is a programme for self- motivated students with a strong scientific interest who wish to develop their knowledge and practical skills in biology.

This programme builds upon a first year core of cell biology, microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, evolutionary biology, and biological techniques. This allows you to focus your studies upon your own interests in your second and third years. You will be able to select from modules in a variety of disciplines related to themes in molecular biology, bioinformatics, ecology and biodiversity.

Put your knowledge into practice
Our fashion design degree makes work experience part of your learning from the very start. In your second year, you’ll undertake a six-week work placement working with designers as they prepare for London Fashion Week. In the past, our students have worked with fashion giants like Burberry, Erdem, Molly Goddard and Peter Pillotto.

First and second year students will also participate in a end-of-year degree presentation, where third year students showcase their creative talents to industry experts.

Our design engineering degree gives you the hands-on skills and project experience you need to gain a competitive edge in both the industrial and commercial fields of design engineering. With the option to study a three-year BEng, or a four-year MEng, our design engineering course gives you the skills, the knowledge, and the hands-on experience to put you at the forefront of the next generation of design engineers.

You’ll get to grips with the digital systems and software you need to gain an insight into electronics, mechatronics, robotics and networking solutions. You’ll enhance your career prospects through our networking events, work experience opportunities and the chance to showcase your work at design engineering competitions. You’ll also have the option to get a foot in the industry door with a paid, year-long work placement.

From your second year, you’ll have the option to carry on with your design engineering degree or transfer to a specialist robotics, electronics or mechatronics programme. If you’re applying for our four-year MEng course, you’ll also gain your masters qualification as soon as you successfully finish your undergraduate study.

The BSc Environmental Health Apprenticeship degree* is professional programme that will prepare the apprentice for a career as an Environmental Health Practitioner in the public or private UK sector. They will gain the knowledge and skills to assess and apply effective solutions to improve environmental and public health in a variety of settings.

This programme has been designed to provide education to those wishing to enter the environmental health profession which upholds healthy environments and protects public health. Through their studies on-campus and experience in the workplace, the apprentice will explore the relationship between professional, domestic and leisure environments and how they impact on the health and well-being of individuals and societies. They will cover a range of topics and subject matter including public health, food safety, environmental protection, private sector housing improvement and occupational health and safety.

The apprentice will benefit from specialist teaching and learning spaces for environmental health, including a food inspection laboratory, an environmental and occupational health laboratory, a Grade 2 microbiology laboratory, a biology laboratory and chemistry laboratories. Our lecturers are environmental health practitioners with experience in key areas such as food safety, health and safety, and private sector housing.

Upon graduation, they will be prepared to enter careers in both the public and private sectors and will be confident in evaluating the legal and social framework within which environmental health operates. As this course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), the apprentice will be encouraged to also complete the CIEH Chartered Practitioner Programme and become a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner.
