Develop sporting and coaching skills

• Our philosophy means the scientific approach lies at the heart of this sports course. You’ll learn how to support athletes to reach their peak and perform at the right time while reducing the risk of injury.
• We believe in building a portfolio of practical skills, which means a large part of your studies will be spent practising in Barnet Copthall Stadium, home of Saracens Rugby Club. (Access will be dependent on social distancing requirements due to Covid-19.) By the end of the course you’ll take part in more than 150 hours of clinical practice, working with a range of athletes across a number of sports.

You enrol on a four-year course, which includes the one-year foundation course. If you complete this year successfully you progress directly onto one of our three-year degree courses in these subject areas. BA Criminology (Policing and Investigations)

Physiology is a scientific discipline that’s essential to medical practice and human health. Our degree will give you a theoretical understanding of bodily functions, from cells and tissues through to organ systems. The course will focus on the diagnosis of disease, assessment of human fitness, and performance under difficult environmental conditions.

How you’ll practice your skills

• Using specialist equipment, you’ll have the chance to investigate and record electrical brain activity, monitor nerve pathways, and rhythm, rate, and functioning of the heart. Our expert tutors will be on hand to guide you through the process while helping you to develop technical and soft skills. You’ll also get the experience of designing your very own research experiments.
• External specialists from related industries frequently visit our campus to give talks. We have excellent relationships with prestigious NHS trusts, such as Guy’s and St Thomas’, UCLH, College Hospital, and many more. We use these relationships to help you secure placements and gain exposure to the industry. We also give you the opportunity to take an optional placement year.
• Past graduates from this course have gone on to roles like applied physiologist, exercise physiologist, clinical scientist, and many others. You can look forward to joining the armed forces, the NHS, research centres and pharmaceutical companies as the skills you’ll gain will be highly in demand.

Now students who do not meet the requirements of a 12 month postgraduate course can still pursue a career in International Business, by completing an extra three months of study to bring them up to speed

This course has been specifically created to assist students who do not qualify for our 12 month programme gain the core knowledge and skills they need to catch up and complete the same level of study as the rest of our postgraduates. We've tailored the course to include three extra months of study that cover the essential skills and theories you need to embark on an advanced course in International Business Management.

Core to the course is an understanding of managing company operations and dealing with issues such as financial performance. You will gain in-depth knowledge of global business environments and international entrepreneurial activity, as well as benefiting from trips to industry and professional speakers. This master's programme will allow you to develop your knowledge and understanding of advance Immunological concepts. In particular, the course will focus on developing the understanding of how immune system disorders arise and how immunological reagents may be used as therapeutics (immunotherapeutic). You will also gain a knowledge of a range of immunoassays and will come to understand how these may be used in the diagnosis of disease.

This programme structure in the area of Biomedical Science and Medical Immunology will provide you with the necessary framework and vocabulary in essential and advanced aspects of Immunology. Additionally you will gain knowledge in a range of analytical and technical skills that will equip you to pursue a range of career options. These may include employment within the health service, pharmaceutical industry and education, or, to proceed to further scientific training or research.

As part of this programme you will also carry out a research project with a focus on Immunology supervised by research-active experts in the area.

This course is designed for those students who have previously studied a related subject in Biomedical Science at university level or who have a basic knowledge of Immunology and are looking to develop an advanced mastery of the subject.

BA Business Management (Human Resources)

If you want to learn how businesses work and how to manage people, then this is the degree for you. You’ll learn about the theory and practice of how businesses operate and what their environments are like. You’ll also study a variety of management styles, alongside the law and practices related to managing people.
