Digital media course has been especially designed to meet the skills and demands of the fast-moving creative industries. Combining theoretical knowledge and practical skills, you gain skills in areas such as new media, video production, website design, culture and more. Practice-based work includes video production (following Government safety guidelines), web design and HTML programming, data visualisation and smart environments. Great emphasis is also given to the management and analysis of social media platforms, with APIs and other sources used to present and assess social data.

You'll be taught by experienced technical tutors who know the industry inside out. They will guide through a series of modules like the compulsory Digital Media Practice module, which focuses on production methods: video, sound recording and mixing, advanced post-production, and many more. This programme will provide you with the academic, practical and research skills you need to continue onto further professional training in clinical psychology, counselling psychology, psychotherapy, clinical research, and health management.

You will be introduced to a range of approaches to psychological therapy and intervention and will be supported to develop a range of therapeutic communication and intervention skills both in workshops and through work experience.

As part of the Masters programme, you will also acquire the knowledge and skills required to critically assess research in therapeutic psychology and to undertake research in a topic that is relevant to psychological therapies or interventions.  You will be taught by staff who are therapy practitioners and researchers in mental health, psychological wellbeing and trauma.

You will enrol on a four-year course which includes the one-year foundation year. The number of students who progress to degree study is very high. The Foundation Year in Performing Arts is taught in our excellent studios and facilities at our Hendon campus by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses. You’ll study in the psychology department which has some of the most high-tech equipment available. In our sector-leading laboratory, you’ll have access to all the facilities you would imagine from a top class lab – psychophysiological monitoring, electroencephalography (EEG), and more. Even in eventualities where we are unable to be in the laboratory or classroom together, we aim to use virtual tools to help you develop key practical skills.

The course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and you’ll have access to membership once you graduate with your psychology and neuroscience degree.

Studying BSc Medical Biochemistry with us will introduce you to new ideas and products that are applied to some of the biggest health problems of today. You’ll study the subject with a focus on human biology and medicine. Core themes will include chemistry, immunology, and molecular biology. How you’ll practise your skills
Our course is unique among other medical biochemistry degrees because we focus on getting you work experience throughout your time with us. You’ll have the option of taking a year-long industry placement that’ll help you develop your transferable skills. We also have a work experience module that’ll allow you to increase your chances of employment and practice working in the scientific field. Workplace learning is under the control of our employer partners who may need to restrict access to placement learning in light of the ongoing Covid 19 outbreak.

You’ll learn through a series of computer-based sessions, practically focused learnings, and workshops. This mixed learning style will ensure you’re practising your skills in hypothesis formation, data collection, analysis, and interpretation as you learn. In addition, you’ll get the chance to become a member of the Middlesex Biochemical Society and gain experience as part of different research groups.

During the foundation year you will learn how computers are used by a broad range of people and organisations as well as acquiring fundamental software development skills and knowledge of hardware. You also gain relevant mathematical and statistical skills and develop useful communication skills.

BEng Electronic Engineering

This midwifery degree takes place in our partner NHS hospitals, including London’s leading maternity units. Because the course has been developed in partnership with local NHS trusts, we’re able to offer you placements on different maternity wards. Your time studying will be equally dedicated to theory and practice.

All our teaching staff have professional career experience as midwives while many are actively involved in practice in the UK and overseas. You’ll study key modules including anatomy, physiology/pathophysiology, cultural and psychosocial issues, plus many more, to meet Nursing and Midwifery Council standards for proficiency for midwifery.

You’ll have access to state-of-the-art facilities during your studies. These include a midwifery skills lab, housed in a separate building, where a range of high-fidelity simulations are set up in areas like resuscitation and dealing with complex care needs.

Once you graduate, you’ll have a lot of career opportunities available. Your skills will be in high demand in settings like the labour and antenatal wards, private practices, as well as within communities, local clinics, and GP surgeries.

How you’ll practice your skills

• Our degree will ensure you get extensive practice while you study. Clinical practice weeks will require you to work shifts and experience the 24-hour, seven-day care to develop your understanding of women’s and babies’ needs throughout a 24-hour period. Your caseload will be purposefully small so you’re able to practice proficiency and continuity while being supported by a mentor.
• Your degree will be made up of 50% practice, and many of our graduates get their first job in their placement locations. Practice hospitals include Whittington Hospital, North Middlesex Hospital, and Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
• This course is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council to meet the highest standard of healthcare training. You’ll gain the status of a registered midwife when you graduate.

This degree is the ideal sports and exercise science route for students who aspire to work with elite athletes. Learn how to plan and deliver training programmes, monitor progress and deliver feedback to coaches. Being a fully recognised profession in elite sport, almost all professional clubs now employ a minimum of one strength and conditioning coach. This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to work with athletes in any sport and of any age.

Learn from noted academics who also work with professional athletes and clubs. This course will facilitate your accreditation from relevant strength and conditioning awarding bodies (NSCA and UKSCA) and provide supervised work experience with high-level athletes (for example, in professional football, rugby, and with Olympic and Paralympic athletes). Alongside designing and implementing evidence-based, sport-specific training programmes, you will master a number of exercise techniques, including Olympic lifting, speed agility and plyometrics. You will also develop research and data analysis skills, and the ability to present findings to a team.

You will gain experience as a strength and conditioning coach and scientist through our work-placement module. One of our partner organisations is Saracens Rugby Club and our facilities are housed at their nearby Barnet Copthall Stadium, home of Saracens Rugby Club, where we boast world-class performance laboratories, rehabilitation units and testing facilities.
