Our course combines broad theoretical skills of modern psychology practice with a focus on the neuroscientific explanations and research of human behaviour.

You’ll study in the psychology department which has some of the most high-tech equipment available. In our sector-leading laboratory, you’ll have access to all the facilities you would imagine from a top class lab – psychophysiological monitoring, electroencephalography (EEG), and more. Even in eventualities where we are unable to be in the laboratory or classroom together, we aim to use virtual tools to help you develop key practical skills.

The course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and you’ll have access to membership once you graduate with your psychology and neuroscience degree.

After graduation, you can choose to progress into postgraduate training or pursue a career in law, politics or teaching. Previous graduates have gone on to work with companies like Pro Star Academy, Royal Free Hospital, and more.

Our criminal justice degree approaches the subject from a theoretical, research-informed, and practice-based perspective. This means that during your time studying you’ll gain an understanding of the criminal justice system and the different career paths you might want to pursue after graduation. This course is designed to enable you to build up strong laboratory and diagnostic skills. This is built around a practical element, with an emphasis on developing these skills. Where possible, you will be able to study and learn without the University's specialist laboratories. This will be augmented through the use of sophisticated virtual laboratory simulation. Subject to any restrictions as a result of COVID-19, you'll also learn how to use cutting-edge equipment such as MALDI-TOF mass spectrometers and flow cytometers.

The Biomedical Science courses at Middlesex have a burgeoning international reputation and the University's strong links with London hospitals, NHS laboratories and other universities and industrial partners ensures that you will be studying the latest developments, practices and research. We strongly encourage you to develop your employability skills throughout the course and this is often built into the modules from the start. These skills, sometimes referred to as soft skills, include reflection, professional development and team work.

You’ll receive a Placement Planning Pack to help with structuring and planning for work experience, ensuring you get the most out of it. Additionally, you’ll undertake a practitioner-based module, set within a workplace, and build a digital portfolio that showcases the development of your knowledge and skills throughout the course. The course’s timetable is specifically arranged to give you the opportunity to arrange voluntary or paid work experience, or shorter placements. Product designers are the visionaries who bring people and technology together. A BA in product design will open up both creative and technological career opportunities in areas that range from industrial design and engineering to mechanical design and creative technology.

Through project-based study, you'll develop the expert skills and understanding to combine aesthetic functionality and innovative technology. You’ll spend your first year studying a combination of product design and product design engineering to get a broad understanding of the fundamentals of both practices before choosing whether to continue with the BA Product Design or move across to our BEng Product Design Engineering programme.
