It is estimated that one in four people seek professional support for a mental health problem and therefore there is high demand for psychological therapies and interventions. This programme is aimed at those who wish to develop careers in psychological therapy or mental health by building on your knowledge, practical skills, experience and confidence when applying for highly competitive roles such as Assistant Psychologist or Clinical Psychology Research Assistant.

This programme will provide you with the academic, practical and research skills you need to continue onto further professional training in clinical psychology, counselling psychology, psychotherapy, clinical research, and health management.

You will be introduced to a range of approaches to psychological therapy and intervention and will be supported to develop a range of therapeutic communication and intervention skills both in workshops and through work experience.

As part of the Masters programme, you will also acquire the knowledge and skills required to critically assess research in therapeutic psychology and to undertake research in a topic that is relevant to psychological therapies or interventions.  You will be taught by staff who are therapy practitioners and researchers in mental health, psychological wellbeing and trauma.

Please note that this programme does not lead to a therapy practitioner qualification.

You’ll study career-relevant topics that include sustainability, cultural tourism, and tourism in developing countries, gaining an insight into distinct social science perspectives. You'll also get the opportunity to build your professional industry experience ­– in the UK and abroad – with a range of work placements and field trips.

Aside from gaining industry-specific knowledge and skills, you’ll also learn Spanish with the help of a specialist language tutor.

You’ll have access to our international team who provide excellence in teaching and research. You’ll also further enhance your language skills with a year-long study abroad option in a Spanish speaking country that will help you get hands-on experience of management in Spanish.

Due the conditions created by the pandemic, Middlesex University has taken the decision to postpone the taking of the period abroad (either as Summer Placements of Full Year of Study Abroad) until July 2020-21, when the situation will be reviewed.

Develop your management skills

• You’ll take part in a range of industry-relevant UK field trips throughout your course and also spend a week at an international tourist destination. Spain and Greece are among previous field trip destinations, and the majority of the cost for these excursions is included in your tuition fees.

You will design and build complex electronic circuits and systems-on-a-chip using a range of methods and software tools, applying a systems engineering approach to problem-solving, opening up career opportunities wherever automation is involved.

• There are two honours degree programmes available for each area of study – a three-year Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) and a four-year Master of Engineering (MEng).
• Both degrees share a common first year, but due to the advanced nature of the MEng programme students must demonstrate they have the high-level knowledge and skills required at the end of year 2 and 3 to progress on the programme.
• You must apply direct to either the BEng or the MEng, but you can also choose to change programme. You must apply for the MEng in Year 1 if you want to guarantee your student loan will cover the fourth year of fees.

BA International Politics, Economics and Law

Our course will give you a broad understanding of international political systems, economics and international law while enabling you to carefully consider the ever-evolving international context for maximum relevance.

You’ll learn the different international legal, political, and economic perspectives to enhance your critical and analytical ability, and develop your policy analysis skills. The course offers a active role play base learning, including an interactive UN role play event addressing the delivery of the Sustainable Development Goal.
