BA Business Management (Human Resources)

If you want to learn how businesses work and how to manage people, then this is the degree for you. You’ll learn about the theory and practice of how businesses operate and what their environments are like. You’ll also study a variety of management styles, alongside the law and practices related to managing people.

You’ll be supported by a team of tutors who have industry experience. You will be exposed to key HR practices such as hiring practices, HR law, the ethics of employment and other abilities you'll need during your career.

Our international tourism course covers all the essential knowledge to give you a solid foundation from which to pursue your interests. The events management module will give you a great understanding of the events industry and everything that goes into planning memorable ones. You’ll cover planning, strategy, and management while analysing festivals and the requirements of different event types. Biological science of the Third Millennium. encompasses and unites concepts, techniques and data from many allied sciences to provide a broader understanding of Life’s processes and interactions. The programme at Middlesex University is unique in combining a range of modules that cover a wide spectrum of biological sciences, but also integrates an emphasis on skills and experience acquisition that provides you with a valuable and marketable skill set. This programme builds upon a first year core of cell biology, microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, evolutionary biology, and biological techniques. This allows you to focus your studies upon your own interests in your second and third years. You will be able to select from modules in a variety of disciplines related to themes in molecular biology, bioinformatics, ecology and biodiversity.

Throughout your degree you will gain biological and transferable skills necessary for a scientific career. In your final year, you will be equipped to carry out your individual research project, supervised by one of our academics with expertise in ecological, molecular, microbiological microbiological or bioinformatics research. Such research will develop your personal flexibility and creativity whilst honing organisational and project management skills. Studying BSc Medical Biochemistry with us will introduce you to new ideas and products that are applied to some of the biggest health problems of today. You’ll study the subject with a focus on human biology and medicine. Core themes will include chemistry, immunology, and molecular biology. There are two honour degree programmes to choose from - one is a three-year Bachelor of Science (BSc), and the other is a four-year Master of Science (MSci).

How you’ll practise your skills
Our course is unique among other medical biochemistry degrees because we focus on getting you work experience throughout your time with us. You’ll have the option of taking a year-long industry placement that’ll help you develop your transferable skills. We also have a work experience module that’ll allow you to increase your chances of employment and practice working in the scientific field. Workplace learning is under the control of our employer partners who may need to restrict access to placement learning in light of the ongoing Covid 19 outbreak.

You’ll learn through a series of computer-based sessions, practically focused learnings, and workshops. This mixed learning style will ensure you’re practising your skills in hypothesis formation, data collection, analysis, and interpretation as you learn. In addition, you’ll get the chance to become a member of the Middlesex Biochemical Society and gain experience as part of different research groups.

This degree is designed to provide you with an in-depth understanding of crime and criminal justice at national and international levels. It promotes a critical and comparative approach to crime and justice issues intended to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to deal with a range of traditional and non-traditional crime, justice and deviancy issues.

The course looks at contemporary problems such as terrorism and the priorities of global policing, human rights and justice, environmental justice and transnational crime. The international and transnational dimension of crime is an integral part of the programme.

Criminology at Middlesex has a particularly strong international reputation. The Department was pioneering in an in?uential strand of criminology called 'left realism', and established one of the very ?rst courses of its kind in the UK, which is still considered to be one of the leading postgraduate criminology courses.
