Landscape architects create and manage the landscapes we live and work in. They plan and design places. This ranges from the private garden to the urban square and the city region.

The Master of Landscape Architecture is a two-year full-time postgraduate conversion course. It's suitable for:

• Graduates in other disciplines who wish to qualify and work as professional landscape architects
• Those with international landscape qualifications who wish to pursue professional studies in the UK

Whether or not you have a background in design, you'll develop the skills needed for contemporary practice.

You'll gain a practical understanding of the theories, methods and techniques employed in landscape architecture. Most of what you learn is applicable worldwide.

The Master of Landscape Architecture has candidate accreditation from the Landscape Institute (LI). We are applying for full LI Accreditation status upon graduation of the first cohort.

You will develop the skills and knowledge required to develop computer game software and you will gain an international perspective on advancements in computer game development.

Explore different aspects of computing science – such as games design, bioinformatics, and security – in your first two years.

You will study specialist modules in Stage 3, such as gaming simulations and computer games development.

Take modules from our MSc degree in Computer Game Engineering in Stage 4 to develop a deep understanding of game engineering.

It forms part of the 1+3 (Master's plus PhD) scheme. This under the ESRC Northern Ireland/North East (NINE) Doctoral Training Partnership.

The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) recognises it as a Research Master's award. This makes it ideal preparation for a PhD under the ESRC funded 1+3 (master's plus PhD) degree scheme linguistics strand or for students with NIHR Pre-doctoral Clinical Academic Fellowship (PCAF) funding.

The course will cover:

• Research methods in the discipline. They will be appropriate to your planned dissertation project and future research
• Advanced scholarship and practice. This is in areas within that discipline as well as an awareness of current research
• Design and implementation of an original investigation. This includes statistical and/or qualitative analyses and interpretation of findings
• development of communication skills for sharing findings of clinical investigation with professional audiences. This is through a conference presentation and manuscript for submission to a scientific journal

Political and environmental influences are impacting the types and uses of plants in food production and eco-systems management. Limitations on the use of synthetic herbicides and growth pattern regulators are changing the management strategies available.

Graduates of this applied agri-biological degree will be well placed for a wide range of careers in this vital and developing sector; including plant genetics, bio-chemical research, and agronomy.

On this degree you can select options with a cellular and molecular emphasis underpinning fundamental understanding of plant physiology.
