Biomedical engineering is a fast evolving interdisciplinary field, which has been at the forefront of many medical advances in recent years. As such, it is a research-led discipline, which sits at the cutting edge of advances in medicine, engineering and applied biological sciences.

This MSc programme is designed to provide an advanced biomedical engineering education and to develop specialist understanding; the programme contains a large project component which allows you to develop advanced knowledge and research skills in a specialist area.

The programme also aims to develop a multidisciplinary understanding of the subject, which can be applied in a variety of clinical, biomedical and industrial settings. All subjects are taught by biomedical/medical engineers and clinical scientists. The application of appropriate financial technology and analytical skills is a growing priority, particular for finance professionals. In increasingly competitive environments, professionals within the financial sector require a more detailed view of their organisations financial data.

This programme is designed with inputs from leading industry professionals and strikes a balance between the mechanics of analytical methods and the dynamic finance-related decision-making process. We aim to develop our students as finance professionals of the future who, equipped with analytics skills, have the appropriate attributes to reduce risks through making smarter, timely and more accurate financial decisions.

Students will gain technical data science skills and non-technical management skills along with a deep understanding of the application of analytics within the context of financial management. 

This degree explores how archaeological techniques and the analysis of human remains are used in a forensic (medico-legal) context.

You will gain a full grounding in archaeological excavation, surveying and recording of crime scenes.

In addition, you will also learn about human anatomy and anthropological analysis of human remains, including age, sex, ancestry assessment and the analysis and interpretation of trauma.

Specialist modules will allow you to understand how scientific techniques are used to build up a biological profile of unidentified remains; processes of decomposition (and preservation) of human tissues and associated materials; trauma analysis; and forensic identification of living people.

You'll also gain an understanding of scientific principles and how data should be presented in a legal context.
