Our education master's degrees give you the opportunity to design a tailored program of study that suits your learning and professional needs. You will be able to specialise and receive an award in a particular disciplinary area.

This program focuses on inclusive practice. It is intended for teachers and other professionals working with students who are experiencing barriers to learning and participation or other special educational needs, whether in mainstream schools, special schools/units, colleges or early years settings.

It is designed to help you develop your knowledge, understanding and critical skills in analysing and evaluating current research, theory and practice. The program will provide you with opportunities to explore a range of areas, such as international developments in special/inclusive education, how to work with and involve parents and children, and the school's role in promoting inclusion. You will also look at a range of topics that arouse controversy and debate in the area of special needs.

The Inclusive Education pathway is designed for professionals with some experience, either in paid employment or as a volunteer.

This four-year course covers a broad range of subjects organised into three streams:

• Aerodynamics
• Dynamics and control
• Structures and materials.

These subjects are specialised from day one and are taught with aerospace applications and examples.

The first two years are devoted to core concepts, which are taught via lectures and backed up by practical experience through coursework and lab work. Further material, such as space applications and aviation operations, are covered in specialist units.

You will also learn skills that cross all the streams, such as computing, systems engineering and design. There is extensive mathematical content throughout.

In year three your research project allows you to tackle a problem in detail, such as the automated landing of an unmanned air vehicle (UAV), design of a potential space mission, or experimental testing of advanced composite materials.

In year four there is greater flexibility for you to pursue options that interest you. Some units relate to particular application areas, such as helicopter aerodynamics, space systems or wind power. Others study particular technologies, such as composites analysis or experimental aerodynamics or you can choose to undertake a research project.

The diversity of topics in aerospace engineering makes this a challenging degree but the reward is a uniquely broad education.

Econometrics is the application of statistical methods to data to estimate economic models. It is used by economists to verify or disprove theories and analyse the impacts of policies and events on the health of the economy. This course combines the study of economics and econometrics with a wide range of optional units. 

Econometrics is a vital tool for economists because, unlike natural sciences, where controlled experiments are used to determine the effect of one thing on another, it is impossible to hold the economy constant while tinkering with a single variable. Econometrics provides the scientific means to overcome the issue using empirical observations.

Alongside mandatory modules in econometrics and the applied economics dissertation, you will select from a wide range of optional modules from within the Schools of Economics, Finance and Management during all three years of your degree.

The Study Abroad course extends your degree to four years, with your third year spent studying economics in English at a top-ranking university in Europe or farther afield before returning to Bristol for your final year. This course allows you to combine the challenging, broad academic content of all our economics degrees with an overseas dimension that reflects the international nature of the economy.

Neuroscience is beginning to influence education across the world. This program, which can be studied on either a full-time or part-time basis, will provide you with the skills and understanding to interrogate and integrate insights from neuroscience and education.

It is suitable for teachers and practitioners of all subjects and across all ages, including teachers of children with special needs, educational psychologists, education managers, policymakers and educationalists who are keen to contribute to the research agenda of future cognitive neuroscience and educational neuroscience research. It is for those who want to enrich their thinking and practice with insights about typical and atypical learning from the sciences of the mind and brain.

The program also provides an excellent foundation for further research studies, such as a PhD, that involve the ideas and methods of cognitive neuroscience in areas related to education and learning.

You will engage with the latest research literature and debates, including the latest findings arising from the sciences of mind and brain in areas relevant to education (such as reading, attention, mathematics, language and learning disorders, autism, adolescent development, technology and creativity, along with many other areas). You will become an active researcher who draws on findings from neuroscience, psychology, genetics and educational research in order to carry out your own small-scale experiments and research studies, leading to the major work of your dissertation.

You will also complete a range of assignments that encourage written, graphical and oral communication of your ideas. You will become part of a broader community of study and research in the field of neuroscience and education through lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops. The program will help you to gain confidence in making critical judgments about research findings, and in debating and discussing issues or ideas in the field of neuroscience and education.

This course combines in-depth subject specialism in psychology with interdisciplinary breadth, creative teamwork and entrepreneurial skills. By the time you graduate you will have a portfolio of work ranging from live client projects to planning your own entrepreneurial venture. You will have learned how to evaluate the potential of your product or service and how to finance it, and you will have a network of peers and advisers who have worked with you along the way.

Years one and two provide a broad background in biomedical science as well as information about viruses and the diseases they cause.

You will study the immune system and how it controls infection. You will also learn about autoimmune diseases that can occur if the immune system attacks the body's own tissues rather than an infectious agent.

In your final year you will review the main viral diseases of humankind in terms of their natural history, biology, molecular biology, immunology, pathogenesis and epidemiology. These include HIV, hepatitis B and C, papilloma, influenza, measles and coronaviruses, among others.

You will learn about cutting-edge issues in virology and immunology, including emerging viruses such as the SARS-CoV-2, Marburg and Ebola viruses.

You will also learn about the problems associated with the production of vaccines. You will normally work on a research project in either virology or immunology.

Our intensive, one-year, MSc Management with a specialism in International Business is for graduates from a wide range of subject backgrounds. Due to the increasing globalisation of organisations, work, our economy and society, this specialism in international business will be relevant to any future career, and particularly to graduates looking to work in management and leadership roles within an international organisation.

Our MSc Management pathways provide an introduction to management followed by a detailed exploration of a specific area of management theory and practice, in this case International Business. The program attracts students from around the globe and you will be part of a cohort with variety of backgrounds and interests. 

The MSc will provide insight into international business within a broad range of organisations. You will explore the features, organisational processes and challenges of international businesses, critically evaluating how they are affected by social, institutional and political influences.

We aim to guide, teach and develop analytical and confident critical thinkers. You will be armed with the knowledge to apply international business theory to practice. Group work and presentations, often based on industry case studies, allow practical application of theory and develop the teamwork and communication skills expected in today's workplace.
