Our exciting and topical Environmental Science degree combines a range of subjects, including geography, law and oceanography. It focuses on applying science to some of the biggest environmental challenges of today and in the future. It will prepare you for a rewarding career in many fields, like environmental management and conservation.

Our BSc Environmental Science consists of theory with practical and project work, and explores sustainable solutions to environmental problems.

At the start of the course, you'll choose one of 4 specialist pathways. This will give you control over your degree and career route. You can change your pathway at the end of the first year.

You'll complete a research project in year 3. Industry regularly implements our students’ work. For example, Ordnance Survey has used recommendations from student-designed environmental management systems.

We provide many opportunities for fieldwork, where you'll gain the skills to collect and analyse data. Previous field trips have used drones for remote sensing and studied salt marsh vegetation.

Statistics and data science are increasingly in demand in industry and business. Training in statistics will provide opportunities to work in manufacturing, environmental science, medical research and government. You could work on clinical trials or analysing quality control processes. You’ll graduate with a technical background in mathematics, and the statistical and communication skills needed for a career as a statistician.

On this BSc Mathematics with Statistics degree you'll study core maths topics such as algebra and calculus. You’ll learn both practical and theoretical statistics, including probability theory to understand random events, and modern computing techniques to analyse large amounts of data.

You'll learn the clinical and professional skills you need to become an audiology healthcare professional. We are the only UK university with in-house audiology and auditory implant clinics.

Hearing loss, deafness, tinnitus and balance problems are major health issues and have an impact on quality of life. You’ll learn to manage these conditions and support patients while developing academic, professional and employability skills.

The audiology course teaches you about the biopsychosocial and technical foundations of audiology, as well as the broader scientific, technical, healthcare and professional skills you’ll need from university to become a audiologist.

Throughout this audiology degree, you’ll attend practical sessions in our dedicated skills laboratory and clinics. You’ll also go on a 27-week clinical placement to support your audiologist training.
