The MSc Neuroscience & Mental Health has been designed, with feedback from industry, to fulfil a gap in the postgraduate market for a strong research-led neuroscience Masters degree.

The programme will allow students to build both a strong knowledge-base and a clear understanding of the practicalities involved in research, drug discovery and development of therapeutic interventions for disorders of the nervous system.

Students will have access to expertise and facilities for in vivo animal studies, such as models for different aspects of learning & memory. The course will include training in associated ethical & legal considerations.

In Psychology, you’ll study human behaviour. Psychological research is motivated by the desire to understand both general behaviour (how we learn, remember, co-ordinate our actions and interact with others) and the reasons for the differences between individuals, such as personality or intelligence.

Social policy is a theoretical and applied subject which draws on many different disciplines - such as history, sociology, anthropology, economics, law, psychology and politics - to improve our understanding of how different societies organise their resources to meet individual and social needs and how they measure progress in these areas.

Our BA degrees in Humanities & Social Sciences are initially broad-based. In Year 1, you'll study three subjects, including your chosen subject(s).
