Economics is at the core of Global Sustainable Development (GSD). You will critically analyse economic models and theories of sustainable development through quantitative and qualitative approaches. Economics modules will provide you with an essential background in micro and macro economics, as well as methodologies for statistical analysis.

Meanwhile, your studies in GSD will empower you to consider the human and environmental implications of development. Study abroad

We encourage you to take the opportunity to study abroad during your course at Warwick.

You may choose to apply for an intercalated year spent either studying abroad or on a work placement (subject to you meeting departmental academic requirements). This will mean extending your course to four years.

If you want to extend your learning and broaden your perspective by studying abroad for a year, Warwick has partnerships with universities across the world. You will spend your first and second years at Warwick, studying abroad in your third year. You will then return to Warwick for your final year.

Neuroscience is the discipline that encompasses the study of the brain and nervous system in health and disease. It is an enormous field spanning genomic, molecular, cellular, network and behavioural levels.

This degree course is designed for students who wish to develop a greater understanding of the most complex and enigmatic of organs.

With the knowledge and practical experience gained on this course, you will be able to develop a career in neuroscience and human health. Careers could include academic research, laboratory services, pharmaceutical drug discovery or clinical trials. Alternatively, you may wish to pursue a career in employment sectors that appreciate the value of a solid understanding of scientific principles, methods and approaches.

Study abroad

As an alternative to a work placement we support student mobility with the opportunity to apply for a year abroad at one of our partner universities all over the world. The Study Abroad Team supports these activities, and our dedicated Study Abroad Co-ordinator can give you more specific information and assistance.

Taking a cross-discipline approach, you will consider the relationships between a functioning society, and how political and legal systems are structured and operate. The course will also develop your understanding of the philosophical origins and basis for law and politics.

You may explore concepts such as justice, freedom, morals and democracy, as well as the formulation and implementation of law and policy across the world. In addition to core modules in each discipline, there is significant flexibility as the course progresses to choose optional modules from within the three departments as well as across the University.

You will have the opportunity to apply to spend a year abroad with one of our international partners and you may also apply to take a work placement.

Study abroad

We support student mobility through year abroad programs. PPL students have the opportunity to apply for an intercalated year of study abroad at one of our prestigious partner universities.

Companies are often strategically organised through a series of projects, programmes and portfolios, which enables them to focus clearly on specific objectives and manage resources effectively to achieve them.  

This course will provide you with a broad set of skills which have wide application. You will learn the methodologies, tools, principles, and philosophies to effectively contribute to the development and management of small- and large-scale projects, multiple projects, and programmes. Alongside this, you will gain practical experience through applied syndicate activities and current case studies.  

You will develop a methodical approach to the management of financial aspects of projects and programmes and will learn about the strategic management of people in organisations and how this relates to the wider business strategy.

This exciting new course is built on the strength of existing research connections between the four departments that will contribute to it: the departments of Economics, Psychology, and Philosophy, and Warwick Business School (specifically the Behavioural Science Group).

The current attention that this interdisciplinary field of research, particularly the area of Behavioural Science and Behavioural Economics, receives across academia, government and the private sector also makes this course an excellent preparation for a wide range of careers within local government, public health, media, charities and NGOs, marketing and finance.

You will have a choice of interesting potential specialisms and pathways through your course so that you can explore the issues that interest you the most, to graduate with either a BA or a BSc.

Students on all pathways take a course-specific co-taught core capstone module in the final year, which is designed to set the disciplines in interdisciplinary dialogue with each other.

Study abroad

You have the opportunity to apply for an intercalated study abroad year at one of our many partner institutions, extending your degree to four years.

As well as offering an opportunity to experience an alternative university system, studying abroad can also provide the chance to improve language skills and to gain an understanding of a country that can only be gained by living and working in it.

The MSc in Mental Health and Wellbeing is designed for those who are interested in mental health and wellbeing in non-clinical populations. Learning will be enriched by an interdisciplinary approach and teaching will be delivered by world-leading experts across the fields of psychology, business, economics, medicine, health and behavioural sciences. This course offers basic and advanced training in the science and application of mental health research.

The taught components of the course include modules on research methods, basic and advanced issues in mental health research and practice, and real-world interventions. Teaching is delivered by experts in the field from the Departments of Psychology, Warwick Business School, Warwick Medical School, and Warwick Manufacturing Group to combine academic and practical experience.

The practical component of the course is a three-month research placement in a business environment. The focus of the project will be agreed between the student, academic supervisor, and organisational supervisor.
Skills from this degree

Students will leave the course with a variety of research and transferable skills, including research design, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, oral and written communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to apply theoretical frameworks to novel, real-world problems. These skills will be relevant across a range of contexts to succeed in a global workforce.

By studying linguistics together with Italian, you will explore the fascinating human capacity for language, while also building your fluency in Italian. As a linguist, you will learn about the structure and function of language, and about relationships between language and society.

You will also study and practice written and oral communication in Italian, and learn broadly about communicating across languages and cultures. Your skills in linguistic analysis will support your language learning, and your knowledge of Italian will complement your work as a linguist. This course opens many career opportunities that require the knowledge and skills of both a modern language and a deep understanding of language, culture and communication.

(75% linguistics, 25% Italian).

Study abroad

If you wish to spend a year abroad (which we thoroughly recommend), this will take place in your third year, meaning that you will complete your degree in four years instead of three. All students have the opportunity to apply for an intercalated year abroad at one of our partner universities. The Student Mobility Team offers support for these activities, and the Department's dedicated Study Abroad Co-ordinator can provide more specific information and assistance.

Crop agriculture provides mankind’s increasing population with foods, fibres and fuel and this course provides you with knowledge and practical skills in crop management and crop improvement.

In this master's course you will gain a combination of practical expertise and academic understanding to develop key skills. You will learn the principles of crop production, including the latest advances in plant pathology, integrated pest management and soil health.

Skills from this degree

• An understanding of how crops are grown and the factors affecting crop production
• The knowledge to identify and understand the causes of crop disorders and make decisions on appropriate management/control measures

The MA in World Literature at Warwick draws on our department’s renowned expertise in theoretically-driven world-literary and postcolonial studies to offer a year-long course that is unique in the UK.

Considering you as a future scholar and global citizen, this MA will immerse you in the study of writing and culture from across the globe. You will take a core module in the methodology and theory of world literature, choose from a range of modules that address issues in modern and contemporary world literature, and write a dissertation on an (approved) topic of your choice with a specialised supervisor.
