The Arkansas State University Masters in Exercise Science program is designed to prepare students for a variety of jobs in health, wellness, and the clinical settings through course work, practical experiences, and research opportunities. Graduates of the program will be prepared to take certification exams offered through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).  Obtaining this degree along with nationally recognized certifications will prepare individuals to work and manage commercial and corporate wellness facilities as well as work in the clinical settings.

Students seeking admission into the Master of Science degree program in Statistics, must meet the admission requirements of Graduate Admissions and the specific program requirements. Students may not take 6000-level courses for credit until all undergraduate deficiencies have been removed.

The program offers classroom instruction on concepts and theory, integrated with intensive laboratory experience focusing on techniques and communication skills required for professional biotechnologists. It is an interdisciplinary program composed consists of 36 academic credits, including two intensive laboratory methods courses and a directed professional internship.

The internships consist of a minimum of 300 laboratory hours in an industry or government laboratory research agency  and focus on intensive training. Students are required to compose a PowerPoint presentation and a professional portfolio illustrating accomplishments achieved during their internship experiences.

The Bachelors of Science in Information Systems and Business Analytics (ISBA) is designed to prepare students for careers as IT professionals.  Our graduates hold positions as network administrators, application programmers, website developers, database architects, operations schedulers, and technical support specialists, to name a few.  

Of particular interest to potential students who already have practical IT experience should be the alignment of many ISBA courses with industry certifications. Consequently, students can simultaneously complete their major requirements and prepare for industry certification exams.  This further makes it possible for students to receive course credit for certifications already earned.

The Department of ISBA, provides instruction and conducts research addressing information systems and the technology supporting those systems. We are involved also, through technology transfer, in assisting the University with its economic development mission for the Delta Region and beyond. In addition, as consultants, we serve other constituents within the University and around the local community.

The M.S.E. degree in Social Science is rooted in a solid core of History and Social Science, along with 9 credit hours in Education.

M.S.E. graduates find rewarding careers in teaching and administration in public and private secondary schools.

The Arkansas State University MBA Program is a professional degree program designed to prepare students of all educational and professional backgrounds for management positions in all types of organizations. As such, the program stresses the development of analytical, problem-solving and decision making competencies for the dynamic, complex global organizational and social environments.

Management Information Systems - Concentration
The MBA with Concentration in MIS program is designed to allow graduate business students the ability to select in-depth coverage of the core components of today’s IT ?eld while furthering their business administration academic career. Students will complete the 27 hours within the MBA core (which includes two graduate level MIS course) and 9 additional hours of graduate level MIS coursework.

The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre is a 120-credit hour degree program designed to provide students with professional-caliber training within the framework of a liberal arts education with specific coursework in acting, directing, design, literature and history.

Emphases  in Acting

Students in the Acting emphasis select elective courses in scene study, dance, voice and speech, movement, stage combat, audition techniques, and Shakespeare performance.

Our traditional mode of the MPA program provides you with two tracks to choose from Public Management and Non-Profit Management. Our program doesn’t require the GRE, is NASPAA accredited, and one of the most affordable master’s programs in the country. Additionally, if you are a current A-State undergraduate student and want to pursue an MPA after you graduate, you can do so by starting off during your senior year through our new 4+1 program. The focus of the B.S. Mathematics degree program at Arkansas State University is to provide students with the opportunity and the direction to pursue the intellectual challenges of mathematics; and to provide the mathematical knowledge necessary to function competently in graduate school and/or in a career requiring mathematical skills.  Students graduating with the B.S. Mathematics degree will have a strong foundation in the fundamental notions of mathematics, including rigorous proof, and will possess valuable skills in problem solving, critical thinking, and the effective communication of mathematical concepts and models.  Coursework includes exposure to physics, programming, and electives that allow students to explore various topics in applied and pure mathematics and statistics.  The flexibility within the B.S. Mathematics degree allows for optimal preparation for graduate study in mathematics or statistics and prepares B.S. Mathematics students for pursuing careers as an actuary, mathematician, operations research analyst, or statistician; and for other jobs in business, industry, or government that have math as an essential job skill.

The M.A. in Criminal Justice is designed to serve two purposes. First, the program will assist in developing additional analytical skills for in-service practitioners with B.A./B.S. in the field or in a closely related field. Second, the program will provide a good foundation for students who wish to pursue doctoral studies.

In order to fulfill the requirements of the program, students are required to select a graduate committee comprised of at least three faculty members from the graduate faculty, two of whom must be from the department of Criminology, Sociology, and Geography. The selection of the committee should take place no later than the end of a student’s second semester in the program. Additionally, students are required to submit a graduate plan to the committee for consideration, which shall indicate the courses that a student plans to take to fulfill the degree requirements. At least two members of the committee must approve of the plan.
