The Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders is a preprofessional degree program which provides students with academic and practical preparation considered essential for success in the Communication Disorders graduate program.

The undergraduate curriculum offers students a broad base of preparation in general education requirements, the sciences associated with communication and its disorders, anatomy and physiology, and a number of basic methods courses associated with the identification and treatment of a variety of communication disorders.

Health Promotion is the process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve, their health. Students completing this degree program will have the skills and competencies necessary to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate effective health-related programs. Graduates often find employment in public health agencies, clinical facilities (hospitals and medical clinics), worksite wellness departments, or voluntary agencies.

Our traditional mode of the MPA program provides you with two tracks to choose from Public Management and Non-Profit Management. Our program doesn’t require the GRE, is NASPAA accredited, and one of the most affordable master’s programs in the country. Additionally, if you are a current A-State undergraduate student and want to pursue an MPA after you graduate, you can do so by starting off during your senior year through our new 4+1 program. The strategic communications program prepares students to use advertising, public relations, social media, and organizational communication to build mutually beneficial relationships between an organization and its key stakeholders.

Students graduating from this program will know and understand how to use advertising, public relations, social media, branding, crisis communication, media relations, research methods and evaluation tools to help organizations communicate and build relationships with their publics.  They will be prepared to work for advertising and public relations agencies, companies big and small, governmental agencies, and nonprofit organizations such as universities, hospitals, museums and NGOs.

The Master of Science in Engineering (MSEng) program provides a research thesis based, advanced education in engineering. The program of study leading to the MSEng degree presents an advanced cross-disciplinary understanding of engineering sciences, experimental methods, modeling, and fabrication techniques. The goal of the MSEng program is to provide an educational experience focusing on the integration of research and technology development that allows graduates to be successful in deriving solutions to society’s most challenging technical problems. The program culminates in the defense of an original research thesis.
Specific program outcomes are listed below. Program graduates will have:

• Knowledge of advanced experimental methods and the ability to design experiments and collect data
• A good understanding of statistical concepts and an ability to apply this knowledge to achieve engineering solutions that most efficiently use information and resources
• A practical knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing techniques, specifically at the micro- and nano-scales
• An ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts to model physical systems and engineering processes to drive knowledge based design
• An advanced, cross-disciplinary understanding of engineering sciences, and an ability to relate physical concepts from multiple engineering disciplines
• An ability to identify critical issues, formulate realistic solutions, evaluate alternatives, and carry out independent research to provide novel solutions to technical problems
• A demonstrated ability to make novel, significant contributions to the scientific and engineering body of knowledge.

The Coordinated Program (CP) in Dietetics at Arkansas State University – Jonesboro is administered by the Dietetics Program in the College of Nursing & Health Professions. The program provides for the achievement of knowledge and performance requirements for entry-level dietitians through integration of didactic instruction with a minimum of 1080 hours of supervised practice and a minimum of 120 alternate supervised practice experiences, as established by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). The supervised practice experiences occur in foodservice, community and clinical settings. The program features a “clinical” concentration, which allows students to build upon foundation knowledge and competencies for future proficiency in the clinical area of dietetics.

Students apply for admission to the CP after they have finished the sophomore year. The CP requires two years to complete the didactic instruction and supervised practice rotations. Students must have reliable transportation for travel to various practice sites for the rotations. A Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics is granted to students upon completion of the program. Upon graduation, students are eligible to take the national credentialing examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) to become registered dietitians. In addition to RD credentialing, many states have regulatory laws for dietitians and nutrition practitioners. Frequently these state requirements are met through the same education and training required to become an RD.

The M.S. Mathematics degree program provides advanced study in the theoretical and applied aspects of mathematics and statistics.  Students gain a deep foundation and core competency in at least three sub-disciplines of mathematics and broad exposure to other areas through elective courses in pure and applied mathematics or statistics.  Students graduating with the M.S. Mathematics degree are prepared for a number of possible objectives, including careers in industry and government; teaching at two-year and four-year colleges; or further study toward a Ph.D. program.  Through the thesis option, students gain experience in advanced problem solving through research in the mathematical sciences.  Upon completion of the program, many of our students go on to earn doctoral degrees and conduct research in a variety of fields in pure and applied mathematics and statistics.

The Engineering Technology program at Arkansas State University offers a diverse curriculum of study designed to provide our students with the broad background necessary to be competitive and successful technologists in today’s mainstream industrial workforce.  This program prepares students for a wide range of technical careers ranging from manufacturing, management, operations, and upcoming renewable energy sector.  Engineering Technology graduates develop, manage and improve productions processes in a wide range of industries.

Finance - Concentration
The MBA with a Concentration in Finance is designed to allow students to complement their studies in business administration with in-depth coverage of the core components of ?nance, including corporate ?nance, ?nancial markets and institutions, and investments. Students will complete the 27 hours within the MBA core and 9 additional hours of graduate level ?nance coursework.
