You’ll learn Hebrew, Greek, and either Latin or German in order to read the Bible and major theological works in their original languages. Reading these texts creates a closer connection to God’s Word, and offers a deeper understanding of the early Christian world and subsequent Church history. Concordia’s curriculum and faculty will help you attain a  high level of competency for reading and translating these original languages. Plus, this program is excellent preparation for seminary requirements and other graduate work in theology. This major can be combined easily with the applied theology major, the Christian thought major, or others.

Yes, you are going to be challenged. You’ll be learning two new alphabets that likely you’ve never encountered before. However, your future faculty, classmates, and tutors are eager to give you the support and resources needed to succeed. You’ll learn and practice self-discipline (which is necessary for language acquisition). In terms of benefits, you’ll experience the Bible and theological literature in a depth not possible with English translations. You’ll be preparing to spend a lifetime digging into Scripture and writings by Church Fathers with more clarity than before. Plus, through the study of other languages, your mastery of English will also improve. Alongside your languages courses, you’ll also get to take classes with our committed theology faculty.

A Bachelor of Science in Justice and Public Policy (JPP) from CUW will help you understand how administrative law, along with procedural, and substantive criminal laws apply to effecting arrest search and seizure, evidence collection, and courtroom procedures. You’ll learn best practices pertaining to field and custodial interviews, criminal investigations, and procedures involving juvenile. If you are considering an advanced degree, an introductory courses in criminal justice research methods and criminal psychology will prepare you to understand sociological, psychological, bio-physiological, and free-will theories, while learning how to apply theory to practice within the American civil and criminal court systems, correctional system, and justice system.

This program will prepare you with basic knowledge on the path to a successful career in an array of fields including attorney, correctional officer, court administrator, federal special agent, law enforcement officer, paralegal, natural resources warden, probation and parole officer, military career, and security management. The Art Education major prepares future teachers with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to teach visually and perceptively. As an art educator, you can share tools such as patience, passion, and critical-thinking which are vital for living a peaceful and joyous life. You’ll learn to guide others as they explore their inner selves, the external world, and the relationships between them.

Art provides the means to give physical form to all of human experience. You will learn the power of using faith as a part of education in both public and parochial settings. You will learn to promote engagement between art and theology, the importance of the spiritual as revealed in art objects, sacred spaces, and in artistic practice, and the connections between visual art and faith. You will learn how art affects the development of children from a physical, mental and spiritual perspective. The aim of Concordia’s program is to prepare you for a career in the chemical industry or to pursue graduate studies to earn a PhD, an MD, or a PharmD. Expect to be challenged on a regular basis. Our professors have designed a rigorous curriculum to help you advance as a scientist and develop analytic reasoning. CUW’s Chemistry program is approved by the American Chemical Society, an important distinction for any Chemistry program.

A significant portion of your studies will take place in our recently constructed laboratories, with state-of-the-art technology and equipment. Whenever possible, our faculty take a hands-on approach to learning, so you can expect to quickly become comfortable in a lab setting. You’ll gain a thorough foundation in the various areas within chemistry, including organic, inorganic, analytical, physical, and biochemistry. And CUW students aren’t limited to the required courses for developing their skills. If you have a particular area of interest, you have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a faculty member in conducting an undergraduate research project.

Through the master's degree in church music, you’ll be encouraged to strengthen your theological knowledge and grow as a church musician so that you can better guide and enhance others’ worship. Our graduate program is designed to be completed exclusively in summer sessions, or in combination with evening sessions. This allows us to meet your needs outside of the traditional academic year, while still providing the beneficial personal interaction with the faculty. You’ll be able to choose from two areas of emphasis: organ and choral. And even though our courses are taught from a distinctly Lutheran perspective, all denominations are always welcome.

Through this master’s program, you’ll not only perfect your musical abilities, you’ll deepen your understanding of how music ought to relate to theology, specifically in a worship setting. With the combination of these two areas of expertise, you’ll grow in your ability to shape meaningful worship experiences for parishioners. What will your course work look like? Some courses will focus on areas like music theory, arranging, and composing. Others will prepare you for leadership roles in conducting and directing choirs or instrumental groups. Towards the end of your education, you’ll be asked to demonstrate a knowledge of liturgical music practices, musical forms, and the history of music in the church.

Our goal in the Master of Occupational Therapy program is to prepare you as an outstanding occupational therapist, who will positively impact communities by empowering others to reach their highest potential through leadership, best practice, advocacy, and innovation. We emphasize the importance of serving all clients with the best care possible.

You’ll develop the skills necessary to enable people (persons, groups, or populations) to do their day-to-day occupations for the purpose of improving or enabling participation. (OTPF-4, 2020) By combining classroom, laboratory, and supervised clinic-based instruction, our courses train you for a wide range of occupational therapy settings.

Through our program you’ll be able to:

• Use best practice for the evaluation, intervention, and measurement of outcomes for individuals or communities
• Effectively and efficiently solve occupation-based problems

Students in the MOT program will have the opportunity to explore the entry-level Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTDe) degree. At the conclusion of the second semester, students will be given the choice to continue in the MOT program or declare interest in the OTDe program. Students who declare interest in the OTDe will be evaluated by OT faculty to determine eligibility to enroll in OTDe coursework.

This is a full time graduate professional program taught in a blended format. Students interact with their classmates and professors online before and after in person classes, which focus on active learning and/or lab activities. Students apply to and enroll in one of three tracks, as determined by their educational background:

You’ll receive innovative instruction through a curriculum that is current, engaging and challenging. To make sure you get the best education you can, our courses and experiential learning opportunities are designed through the guidance of a professional advisory board made up of seasoned industry practitioners. In addition to your classes, you’ll have the opportunity to network with experts in professional and amateur sports. You’ll eve gain hands-on training by working with the program’s industry partners and participating in intensive field experiences at major events. Some students have attended events like the Rose Bowl, the Final Four, the College World Series and the Super Bowl. And we want to make all of this available to you, wherever you are. Our courses are offered at our main campus, our off-site locations and online.

This program will allow you to pursue your goals as a sport or entertainment business executive so you can do what you love. You’ll take courses that focus on critical analysis, solution development, innovation, analytics, finance, and teamwork development. As a student, you’ll have access to academic service learning, field experience, new technologies, as well as online and social media resources - all so that you can enter the field a step ahead. Not only will you come out of the program with expertise in the industry, you’ll also graduate with increased financial competence, leadership growth, and stronger communications skills. You’ll even have a portfolio of your work that you can show to potential employers. Ultimately, you can expect to leave the program ready to do big work in the industry.

This degree offers a Lutheran Christian perspective on public health and prepares you to serve Christ around the world as a globally minded citizen working to protect and promote the public’s health. It is an engaging, multidisciplinary educational program filled with practical application opportunities to prepare you to be a strong, competitive candidate in the public health sector.

In this degree program, you will have the opportunity to personalize your concentration depending on your interest. Regardless of which concentration you choose, all undergraduate students will complete a minimum of 120 credits, including 45 credit hours of general education core curricula, 25 credit hours of required public health coursework, and 3 credit hours of a culminating/capstone project

Study how to create complex hardware and software systems, manage complex computer information systems (IT), and lead a technical team. Now offering two new tracks in Software Engineering and Computer Information Systems. Both of these tracks will build on your existing experience by deepening your skills and knowledge in the main areas of computer science. A bachelor's degree in a related field is recommended, but not required. Optional catch-up modules are available for each course to help bring you up to speed.

Upon completion of the MSCS program, you’ll be trained in problem solving, collaboration, creative design processes, professional literature, writing, presentation, and ethical practices. All courses will be available online in an accelerated eight week format, but three courses per semester will be offered face-to-face on campus.
