Whether you’re an operations manager, a civil engineer or a chief sustainability officer, our MBA in Sustainability Management and Analytics will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge you need to carry out financially successful sustainability. You’ll learn how to use traditional methods like Six Sigma, lean systems and operations research so that you can improve processes, reduce resource use and waste, and make better social and environmental decisions. With an MBA in Sustainability Management and Analytics, you’re going to enter the workforce with hands-on experience and expertise in current sustainability practices. You’ll develop the ability to strategically innovate and handle global productions and operations. You’ll have a deep understanding of ecological economics and you’ll be able to utilize tools of the modern sustainability designed building. Not only will you have knowledge of the field, you’ll also have hands-on experience, certificates in sustainability methods, and exam prep if you decide to take the LEED Green Associate exam. Plus, you’ll increase your financial competence, leadership abilities and communication skills through the program’s eight core classes. Our Mass Communication major will ground you in writing, speaking and interpersonal communication skills. You’ll learn the basics of reporting, writing and editing in a journalistic style as well as studying the history of animation from silent film to digital media. During your time in the program, you’ll have the opportunity to learn effective broadcast news writing techniques, produce programming for our radio station, and complete your own film or video project. Plus, you’ll write articles for CUW’s school newspaper, The Beacon. This practical training, combined with a strong liberal arts education that is founded in our Christian mission, will prepare you to tell your organization’s story in a meaningful way. Whatever organization you end up in, you’ll be ready to make an impact while doing what you love.  This program also available as a minor.

As a graduate in the Mass Communication program, you’ll leave with all the skills you need to communicate effectively through a variety of channels. Not only will you be a stronger communicator,  you’ll be a better leader. Having studied topics like interpersonal communication and cross-cultural communication, you’ll be ready to work with diverse groups of people. Computer scientists are instrumental to anything and everything that involves computers. And let’s be honest, pretty much everything today involves computers. Robotics, virtual reality, and videogames are often cited as future job areas, but you could also be a part of many other fields—animation, music, automobiles, analytics…the list goes on.

What comes to mind when you think of computer science? In our modern world, there are decreasingly fewer things that don't rely on computers and technology in some shape or form, making computer science one of the most practical and versatile fields of study out there. At Concordia, we define computer science as solving problems using technology. If you can learn to create and manage technology solutions, you can apply your skills to just about any career path.

With five different concentrations available and substantial flexibility in electives, you have the power to customize this degree and make it your own. In this program, you'll receive a well-rounded education through the Concordia Core, as well as a firm foundation of computer science knowledge through our Technology Core. You'll learn the ins and outs of hardware, software, operating systems, databases, coding, and user interfaces. From there, you can branch out into one or more concentrations of computer science, specializing in the areas that are of most interest to you. You can use your electives to earn multiple concentrations, or to explore coursework in any other field at Concordia, broadening your knowledge base.

This is a program intended for lovers of wisdom. You’ll develop a trained mind that thinks clearly, precisely, and rigorously. This program will introduce you to the central texts of the world’s greatest ancient, medieval, modern, and contemporary thinkers. You’ll learn the methods of careful definition, logical analysis, and argumentation. In addition to core foundations of a robust philosophy program, our program has special emphases on apologetics, moral philosophy, bioethics, human rights, and human dignity. It all boils down to this: the CUW Philosophy program will prepare you to be a thinker. And since you’ll be able to specialize in any area of philosophy that interests you most, you’ll experience the true thrill of charting your own intellectual course in life.

Human Resource management is one of the most important roles within any organization. The backbone of a business is built on the way we relate to one another within an organizational structure and the culture it produces.  

This program will teach you about important federal and state legislation, case law decisions, and executive orders that affect employment relationships. You’ll learn to analyze a compensation plan that identifies and describes plan objectives, salary structure, and fringe benefits. You’ll recognize organizational performance models that create effective teams and organizations through employee motivation, engagement, culture, and change management. In addition, you’ll develop methods for attracting, retaining, developing, and engaging a diverse workforce.

You’ll gain an understanding of how strategic planning relates to the workforce and human resource development. And finally, it’s important for us to mold servant leaders at CUW. Through this program, you’ll identify and describe the elements of servant leadership that apply to the work of the human resource professional.

It’s important for kids to stay healthy, and in order to do that they need to move and have a better understanding of their health. With a degree in K-12 physical education, you will teach students the importance of exercise and health education in order to set them up for a healthy lifestyle.

To become a physical education teacher, there is a variety of coursework involved. You will have a better understanding of the human body with exercise physiology, motor development, anatomy, and physiology. You’ll also learn the ins and out of health education with personal, family, and community health. To get to this point, you’ll gain clinical experience and feel prepared to support learners with adaptive physical education needs. Upon completion of the program, you will receive a Physical Education, Health, Athletic Coaching, and Adaptive Physical Education license.

This is an intense field, and it takes a lot of work and dedication to prepare you for your Society of Actuaries Exams. That’s why it’s an incredible benefit to you that our program consists of small class sizes to maximize the personal attention you get from your professors. It really makes all the difference, and will get you where you need to go quicker.

The program itself encompasses a three-part curriculum that includes a liberal arts core, a business common body of knowledge, and a specialization in actuarial science. So in addition to classes like Econometrics, International Business, and Linear Algebra and Differential Equations, you’ll round out your education with classes in literature, history, and theology.

Yes, it’s demanding. But it’s incredibly rewarding as well. High school students are encouraged to get as many AP credits as you can before you begin the actuarial science program. Once you’re in the program, we strongly encourage you to take (and pass, obviously) your SOA Exams P and FM while you’re still in college. It’s especially important for you to pass your Exam P before or during your junior year, because it’s the only way you’ll be able to secure an actuarial science internship.

Concordia’s MBA in Management Information Systems will provide you with in-depth knowledge of database modeling, design and implementation. You’ll gain experience in implementing a database design by creating a physical database using the Oracle Application Express tool and SQL - and you’ll have the ability to sit for the Oracle Database SQL Expert exam. You’ll also learn from experienced professors who will help you understand decision support systems (DSS) on topics like data mining, data warehousing architectures, expert systems, artificial intelligence systems and executive information systems.
