The College of Architecture also administers the interior design program. The four-year interior design program consists of a one-year foundational (d.ONE) program and a subsequent three-year bachelor of science in design (BSD-Interior Design) major. After completing d.ONE, students apply for admission into the College of Architecture’s interior design program. This interior design program is fully accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). The interior design program also offers a post-professional MS degree through the Graduate College.

The film studies program is housed in the Department of English. The program is centered on a core curriculum of four courses in the history of film, film genre, and film directors, as well as film theory and criticism. To these core courses are added related courses, particularly those that integrate the study of moving image culture with rhetoric, philosophy, literary criticism, ethnic literature, and visual cultures of all types. The program is designed for students who wish to ultimately work in academic film studies and also for students who wish to understand film better as an art form, as popular culture, and as a major medium of communication.

The bachelor of science in veterinary science degree allows students to enter into the biomedical science or animal health career fields as a veterinary scientist. It also helps qualify students for admission to a veterinary medical school.

Courses in veterinary science are designed to broaden students’ knowledge of anatomy, biochemistry, histology, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, pathology, pharmacology, toxicology, and virology as they relate to diverse mammalian species.

Students in agricultural economics learn to apply economic and financial principles to the analysis of problems in agriculture, business, government, and other areas. The degree program offers students the opportunity to gain skills in planning, evaluation, and management that are useful in both private- and public-sector enterprises.

Students will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the golf industry through extensive classroom studies, self-study courses, internships, and tournament participation and player development. This includes a basic background in managing golf facilities and related organizations, business and personnel management, restaurant and hospitality management, recreation, and golf instruction. Graduates receive a bachelor's degree in PGA Golf Management, and with PGA-eligible employment, automatically qualify for PGA membership.

The textile science option emphasizes textiles and biofibers, textile production, and issues concerning the global textile industry. Professional support in related sciences and business is required. The program is planned for students interested in sales, research, or management in the textile industry. It is also recommended for students who plan to go on to graduate school in either textiles or related sciences. Students are eligible to receive a minor in chemistry from the College of Arts and Sciences.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department offers a complete electrical engineering undergraduate program to students on the City (Lincoln) and Scott (Omaha) campuses of the University of Nebraska. Curriculum requirements are nearly identical on both campuses and students can complete all degree requirements on either campus.

Electrical engineering is concerned with the production, transmission, and utilization of electrical energy and the creation, transmission and processing of information. This includes power generation and transmission systems, renewable energy, electric transportation, automated vehicle systems, control systems, and power electronics, as well as radio frequency (RF) systems, telecommunications, remote sensing,, bioinformatics, computer vision, biomedical engineering, signal processing, digital circuits, instrumentation, audio, video and opto-electronics. Employment opportunities for electrical engineers cover a wide spectrum of activities including design, development, research, sales, and management. These activities are carried on in industrial organizations, public and private utilities, the communications and computer industry, governmental and educational institutions, and consulting engineering firms. The objective of this major is to offer students an education to become productive electrical engineers and be active, contributing citizens of the nation and the world.

What you will learn
Electrical engineers enjoy dynamic and extremely varied career opportunities. They work with signals at frequencies from zero to beyond the optical range, and they use such tools as computers, advanced mathematics, and wire cutters. They design new machines and improve existing ones; work with computer-related electronics and communication systems; create navigation, robotics and guidance systems for rockets, missiles, spacecrafts and toys; design satellite and optical communications; and help discover and utilize new energy sources. Our students attend national and international competitions in such areas as wind energy and IEEE conferences.

This program of study emphasizes the application of both business and economic principles to the problems/issues confronting agribusiness firms. Students will have an opportunity to pursue a rigorous program of study in both agricultural sciences and business courses leading to a career in a wide range of employment opportunities within the agribusiness field. With assistance from academic advisors, students can acquire depth and/or breadth in their program of study by selecting elective courses that meet their own individual interests.

Textile and Apparel Design, commonly referred to as Fashion Design, relates the physical properties of textiles to our human need for functional and fashionable clothing and home accessories. This option combines the art of design, the science of chemistry and the perspective of history in a rich, challenging learning environment that prepares you for dynamic careers at the creative forefront of the textile industry.

The undergraduate degree program in psychology is designed to provide you with educational and research experiences that can prepare you for graduate or professional school in academic psychology, medicine, dentistry, nursing, public health, and law—to name a few. The bachelors degree program in psychology can also prepare you for diverse careers in applied fields such as counseling, business, and health and human services. If you plan to major in psychology, we recommend that you meet with our advisors as early as possible to plan a program of study consistent with your interests and goals.
