NSU’s B.S.B.A. in Business of Health is designed as a pre-med program. The curriculum includes foundational business courses as well as nine required courses in pre-med sciences and other health care related topics. The one-of-a-kind business of health major provides a comprehensive, flexible, transdisciplinary, problem-based and team-based learning experience, exposing students to the full continuum of the U.S. health ecosystem – taking a look at the upstream, midstream and downstream factors impacting the business of health, population health management, and healthcare delivery in the United States. Students will retrieve data from public databases, use data analytic tools to analyze the financial data, and evaluate the important implications of financial and nonfinancial information gathered from different sources to arrive at effectual judgment and decision-making on earnings management and fraud risk assessment. Students will also develop proficiency in addressing issues on the quality and reliability of sources of financial and nonfinancial data obtained from management and external sources. Students will work on projects aimed at enhancing their competency in critical thinking, problem-solving, written and oral communication, and data analytic skills.
