Cybersecurity is focused on protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data, information, and computer systems. It includes learning how to recognize risks, implement and test security measures, investigate attacks, and defend against adversaries. Graduates possess the combination of knowledge and practical, hands-on expertise to defend an organization's information systems from a wide variety of internal and external threats.

The Bachelor of Science degree in cybersecurity at Grand Valley provides broad coverage of cybersecurity concepts as well as hands-on techniques. A strong computing foundation ensures that students have the knowledge to understand the effects of security measures on computing systems as a whole, as well as how to apply security measures to a variety of computing systems. Coverage of societal and organizational issues regarding cybersecurity prepares students with the necessary context to understand how to apply these skills to the diverse challenges facing a wide variety of organizations.

This major is designed to address the unique position of sport in the global economy. Sport management students acquire knowledge and skills to work in a wide-ranging sport industry and are prepared to pursue graduate degrees, if they desire.

Sport management majors receive a Bachelor of Science degree; students are encouraged to pursue a related minor. In addition, a certificate in sport coaching is available.

Legal studies students may earn a bachelor of arts (B.A.) or bachelor of science (B.S.) degree. The B.A. requires third semester proficiency in a foreign language. The B.S. requires completion of courses in statistics and research methods. A minor, not approved by the ABA, is also available.

The Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB) degree is for students with a passion for the life sciences who want to gain extensive research experience as an undergraduate. CMB focuses on determining how cells develop and function, and how biomolecules, such as DNA, RNA and proteins, interact under normal and pathological conditions. CMB also explores the applications of this knowledge in fields such as biotechnology, medicine/pharmacology, and genomics.

The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in CMB consists of a series of high impact laboratory and computational courses. Each student has the opportunity to choose an independent research project to study a variety of cell and molecular processes that are relevant to human disease or agriculture. Together, coursework and research prepare CMB students to enter the workforce in fields such as forensics or biotechnology or to pursue graduate training in the life sciences or professional school programs (eg. medical, dental, or genetic counseling).

The CMB department also offers a minor in CMB, a combined degree program (B.S./M.S.) and undergraduate and graduate certificates in bioinformatics and genomics.

A studio art minor is also offered, requiring completion of eight courses.

The Classics program embraces the many cultures and languages of the ancient Greek and Roman worldfrom prehistory to the late Roman Empire and early Christianityand includes options to study mythology, archaeology, history, philosophy, and the Greek and Latin languages.

Radiation therapists are responsible for accurately recording, interpreting, and administering the treatment prescribed by radiation oncologists. During treatment, therapists help physicians use fluoroscopy, x-ray, or computed tomography to localize and outline anatomical areas requiring treatment. Secondary application and admission are required.

Students choose between a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science. A minor is available. The advertising and public relations major stresses an integrated approach. Students may choose a focus in advertising or public relations, but they will take courses in both to prepare them for common practice in the field.
